A $1,400 winged car nose...yeah, $1,400...I'd buy the Gregory nose for more money rather than have this thing fixed...it gets worse on the bottom of the nose...the part you see is its best angle...bk

bruce kepley

The Gregory nose...he has been making them since I know the 80's...passed by his place on a business trip in about '87 or '88, he was beginning to work on the noses then, had access to original tooling...bk

Three amigos...David Garland (left), Kenny Brackett (center) and Richard Garland...between Kenny and Richard they have owned 2 Daytonas and 6 Superbirds...you may remember the photo of Richard chiseling out the wing struts from the Bird in the cornfield (posted earlier)...bk

The original Landy Dodge after many years of storage...

Only 45k miles, owned by a sweet little ol' lady who flew it occasionally...actually it wasn't in as bad a shape as it appears if you know the right people...bk

Shirley and Don G. were across the Isle from each other, I tried to get something going between them by telling Shirley that Don thought that he could easily take her today, Shirley started yelling to Don who was some 30 feet away, I walked away laughing...Don and I've been friends since I brought up Sweeny Prossor, the racing fuel guru from back in the 60's...that's where I first met Don when I was a youngster racing modified midgets and using the famous "Sweeny Prossor's famous Nitro-X Racing Fuel", and if you didn't think it was famous you could ask Sweeny, he'd tell you so...bk

You can find ANYTHING at the nats...and if it isn't there you don't need it...

There are many uses for a 71 Charger RT other than just driving pleasure...shade, comfort...and you can sleep in the trunk if you need to...

The Challenger prototype as it was being unloaded at the nats in 2006 or 2007...

I believe that car is owned by another member in Australia. Can't find the thread at the moment.

Thanks again for all these pix.

This has to be one of the best threads in a while.  :2thumbs:

This photo was taken in November, 1978 (photo label is in error, not 1977)...the place was Metrolina Speedway just outside of Charlotte, NC...the event was the Turkey 100...the photo was taken of the accident scene in which Preston Humphries had just been fatally injured...he's still in the car off to the right of the photo, not shown...however, who is shown in the bottom left hand side is a young Dale Earnhardt before he became rich and famous...and beside him, does that look like a young Rich Hendrick?...It was a bitterly cold day...

bruce kepley

A typical scene in my garage in 1985...at one time I had 5 Challenger shaker hood assemblies...those were the days, $100 for a complete assembly...sigh...

bruce kepley

Dale Earnhardt was driving the falcon, I forget who drove the Camaro...the Camaro spun in front of Dale, he hit the Camaro...Dale is in the denim standing between the two cars...

Expensive Ferrari Testarossa racer, right?...actually a hand made copy complete with Ferrari parts, Briggs Cunninghams 2 plus 2 everyday car and help from retired Ferrari engineers...4 were made in the early 80's because only four originals were made in the beginning (all 3 original survivors are in the hands of the same owner, an internet multi-millionaire), 2 copies went to collectors and the other two went to Jim Rose (famous sheet metal man, Holman Moody, who made the cars) and Lee Holman (John Holman's son, now owner of Holman-Moody)...the photo shown here is Lee Holman and Dan Gurney (driving) at Watkins-Glen about 3 years ago...by the way, the bodies are NOT fiberglass, they are of hand hammered aluminum...bk

bruce kepley

Photo taken at Holman-Moody two years ago...the car in the foreground sold for a cool 2 mil, then sold two weeks later for an even cooler 4 mil...

The black parts on the 69 rr body shell indicate the parts that are being reproduced...the ones in light green primer are the ones that will be produced...
