Love Donnie Darko  :2thumbs:

I'd have to pick Army of Darkness & The Living Dead

Id say any of the Evil Dead series are some of my personal favourites. Another favourite of mine is "Redneck Zombies" It was put out by Troma several years back. Its not scary but its filled with cheezy blood and gore and I thought it was funny as hell.

Phantasm I or II is good and Silent Night Deadly Night are good. Last movie though is based during Christmas, but still good/twisted.

Hey, you can hate the game but don't hate the player.

There's a few that have genuinely made me quite uneasy. The Exorcist is pretty much at the top of my list of genuinely scary movies. Typically my nerves are pretty bulletproof but that one still really screws with my head. When it first came out The Sixth Sense was pretty freaky but not so much now. I also thought Jacobs Ladder was quite freaky when I first saw it and I haven't seen it since to know if I was just being a wuss or not. I've only seen the first Saw movie and that was pretty messed up but I haven't seen the other five or six. Evil Dead was a little too cheesy for my taste but I always like a good post-apocalyptic zombie flick. Try finding Flight of the Living Dead. Basically it's Snakes on a Plane but with zombies. It has a cheese factor but not too bad. I thought the Dawn of the Dead remake was a heckuva freak show too. There's always the sci-fi/horror hybrids like Alien and Aliens or Pitch Black and Event Horizon.

Right on!
I wonder how the 3rd one is. I think it just came out like a week or so ago on DVD ..

Already saw Wrong Turn 3. Definitely not as good as the first 2, but still worth a watch. Not as many hillbillies and the story line seems to follow the escaped convicts way more than the hillbillies. Was a little disappointed, but you still should see it. There are a couple of really good scenes and a twist at the end.

Another gem I accidently ran into last year:  Satan's Little Helper

It's a good Halloween movie, striking a nice balance between horror, comedy, and a little touch of nostalgia of a classic 80's slasher film.

The Jeepers Creepers movies are really good too, especially the second one. Very creepy.

I'm gonna be different, and say "Nightmare before Christmas".
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

Here are some brief reviews of horror movies of the older variety. He picks a lot of obscure ones so its fun to watch.
