If as many people were as serious about saving these cars as people on this site "seem" to be, there would be no '68-'70 chargers for sale because somebody would be buying them. It seems everyone wants these cars to be saved, but they want somebody else to foot the restoration bill. Most of the cars you see jumped need floorboards, trunks, trunk extensions, quarters, rockers, rear valence and most likely front fenders. Yes, all of these can be gotten in the aftermarket, But that costs money. Most people need to pay someone to do the work. More money. It is very PC on this site to show total disgust with seeing these jumps done. How many of you showing disgust have actually taken a car as bad as most of these jump cars and actually had it restored? Some people have, and I applaud them. But the number is small. Most of us have had the cars for a while and were drivers when we got them. Not heaps that would need extensive work just to be street legal and driven safely.

And don't be fooled by my screen name. I am not condoning what is done, but I am not going to bash the people for doing it either. I sure as heck can't afford to buy the car and restore it. I had to get rid of a car because I couldn't afford to restore it. If you don't want them trashed, then buy them. If the guy wants a ridiculous amount of money, pay it. It's better than watching them jumped, right? :D
