Hey Guys getting the engine tore down on the Charger and found this sticker. Does it mean that it was a factory replacement  :shruggy:.

That's a lot of dirt on that engine.
Usually a factory replacement engine will have no numbers stamped on the engine ID pad (big block, passenger side above oil pan).

I was thinking the same thing about the dirt.  A little finger wipe wopuld be nice.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

The numbers are stamped on the side 8/11/69 if I remember right. That's what threw me off about the sticker. Maybe it was an rebuild :shruggy:. Sorry about the dirt but every time I try to wipe it off it tears. It's been in a shed sitting on the  floor since early 80's. Good thing though is it's not stuck.

Sorry about that but every time I try to wipe it it tears. It says Remanufacture Code 1.

Could be rebuilt ID tag of some type, I have a factory re-build alt. Replacement new motors are unstamped on the ID pad by the oil pan (they were suppose to be stamped by installer) a rebuild would have stampings on that pad check there. What year?  :scratchchin:

:scratchchin: I will check that thanks. It's a 69.

If it says "remanufacture" I'd say that's rebuilt (by someone later on). It could very well be the original engine to the car but, usually, the remanufactured engine places sell you a "compatible" engine (that's already built) and you send them your core. Check the other casting/stamping numbers to see if it matches the car. If not, then it doesn't make much difference.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.
