Steam Showers?

Does anyone have one of these things? I'm talking about the standalone, enclosed, shower and tub combo that does steam, whirlpool, shower massage, etc..

We're looking to reno the bathroom and I've figured that five grand in to a shower tub combo like this might actually work out cheaper than a new tub, walls, tile, etc.

Now, I'm finding these things for half that price.

I'm stuck with the smaller units because of the size of the room, but since these are - or can be - stand alone units, it gives me some leeway to move it along the wall if it suits the layout of the room better... as opposed to a built-in, tiled surround.

There's a handful of brands that appear to come from the same manufacturer that I've found and a few places that sell them online. Most of the dealer deliver free with the U.S. and Canada.

I was pretty gung-ho about it until I got a hold of one of the manuals. The first spec is quite unnerving: "The customer should install the power source and leakage of electricity according to the electric parameter."

So I thought I'd seek out the advice of anyone who actually has one of these things.

Years ago my Bro. had something similar put in a new house he was building, the novelty wore off in about a year and I remember going over to replace the controller 4 times in 2 years for him.  :Twocents:

That's the kind of stuff I'm worried about...
