mostly of laters RV2 Compressors have a Mopar decal with serial numbers on it in between the two pistons on top. My conpressor is coming bad ( with a taptaptaptap noise inside even still working ) so I got one to replace mine. Needs to be checked ( its being dissasembled ) because who gave me the Compressor told me wasn't getting pressure. Dunno If I'll have to built one good unit from two "damaged" units or whatever.

anyway, thats not the question hehe. This unit I got is still an RV2 ( not a V2 ) but got an identification plate on one of the heads like earliers V2 models, instead the Mopar decal in between the two heads. I think this is a 71/72 unit because down here those Chargers were built with 318s and this unit got SB brackets.

Is this plate left with natural bright metal finish or also black painted like the rest of compressor ?

I have had alot of a/c compressors start kocking a little, shoot some refrigerant oil in it and see it that doesn.t cure your problem, not a very expensive try. You can purchase just a can of ref. oil at your local parts store.
