Need to know what this thing is worth

Hey guys,  The dealership that I work at maybe taking a 70 charger 500 in on trade and they want me to see what its worth.  Here is what I know: 70 Charger 500 engine is 383, auto & AC - all original southern car w/ 93k miles.

todays market - high teens .
trade in value mid to low teens.

being a non  R/T and 3 way green I have my doubts it would get $20-25K in todays market. MAYBE 20K with the options .

If it's a bondo buggy and/or non-matching numbers drivetrain , everything changes

This car looks like a $20k car to me, problem is what bank is loaning that kind of money these days? Even people with good credit can't seem to get loans. Then again some people don't need loans and are not affected by the economy.

You guys know me and 60% of the time, I'm right everytime.        That car is mint for an original.        I'm guessing about $24,000 to $28,000.

and consider this.. trade in value is totally different than retail value.  the guy who trades it in may get 8-10K for it, while the dealer is hoping to make a killer profit off of it.

the guy is better off selling it outright then to trade it in if you ask me, but he may not want to deal with the hassle of it all.

Anyway, I'd say it's worth about $20k from what I can tell. Maybe more since it appears to be all original. Any rust issues?

Wow, nice but if they are trading it in... I go with RD, here.  Trade in and figueing most dealer and what profit they want from a trade in... I bet they wont offer more than $13-15 on trade in and put it out for $20,000 ish...  Just my thoughts..

That is a great car, but the market now its not like it was that is for sure.

I've only ever seen a few hot rods traded in to dealers. Both that I do remember well had major issues and the dealer was stuck eating both. One was a mid 60's Vette and the other a 69' RS/SS Camaro. They both had cracked blocks.

As mentioned earlier, WHO would TRADE IN a 70' Charger to a dealer??  Something stinks......

I agree with Bill.  Nice car worth high teens (~$18k) & trade-in is mid teens ($14-15K).

The paint isn't original, The carpet looks new, The seats look like the day it was made not a seat with 95K on them, vinyl top not a close pic but looks new?, trunk mat not orig., the engine has been repainted with the throttle cable and some wires have orange paint on them, AC line piping painted black, other componets under hood look refurbished or new, nice paint on a 40 yr.old battery tray, Look at the vin tag area paint chips painted over, everything in front of the radiator is painted black, condenser, bracing, headlight motor rods etc, etc, etc, ..................

I agree.....the washer fluid is even at the same level.... So 383 mag & 440 mag were orange. Was the standard 383 blue in 70?

Looks to me like they redid the gine compartmentand engine detail. And that they removed the side molding,and possibly reshot the exterior. It takes nice pics.......Id say mid teens for value or more to just the right guy.

Find out what they are giving him trade in and then tell him to sell it here for 2-3k more? 
Worth a shot at him not getting butthurt and someone getting a nice deal on a seven-o.
