how to start engine with no key and tranny?

is there anyway i can start up my engine with no tranny and no key or ignition?
the city is trying to take my car unless i can prove that the car runs

its a carb 318
so shouldnt there be a way to just kinda start it up for a few seconds?

If it is a manual trans you can if you have a flywheel and bell housing on it. If is an auto then no. As far as the ignition you can jump the solenoid relay on the firewall by the brake booster and make sure you have juice to the distributor.
