Daytona Hood pin clip and lanyard locations

Hey gang...
Was browsing the Superbird site and remembered a question about the location of hood pin clip orientation and lanyard attachment points.. Here's from the AeroWarriors site...

I also attached a zoomed in picture....  Clearly, pin orientation from the fender side inwards and lanyard attach point (aft bezel screw with different non- beveled head). But, with that being said, doesn't mean a different configuration (90 degrees shifted) wasn't used either.........  scroll to the right.

This is justification in my eyes for myself what I did to mine when relocating the lanyards from the previous incorrect location.

Mine are like the ones in the picture. I don't know what is correct, all I know is they've been a source of

aggravation over the years. The clips have a way of sneaking in between the hood and fender at the last

second as you're closing the hood. I've got paint chips on both sides...

I just hold on to them, draped over the front edge, as I shut my hood...Prevents what you're talking about from happening..........

:Twocents:  The hood pins were suppose to be acessable from the side as if you were in the pits and not normally stand in front. But random workmanship dictates is how you find yours positioned

I agree..... Having had mine in both configurations, the "from the side" is MUCH better.......  Plus, I have discovered that the lanyards naturally fine themselves parallel to the wind while driving, and thereby don't beat down on the hood no where as much as the other way....
