I was out cleaning up my yard the day the Google car came by.

You know, that would be a pretty cool job, just drive around and take pictures.

its good for finding something that was parked outside when the camera car came by, if its behind a fence or in the garage you wont see it unless your like Steve and leave your garage open at the right time
i wonder how long it would take to navigate every street in a decent sized city looking for cars that the owner may want to sell in this economy??

My dad spotted this Charger and showed me it. It was there and moved around the yard until the end of last month. I have no clue what happened to it. I drove by and the yard it was sitting in was all muddy and had tire tracks all over it. All of the cars were gone except for the black car with the homemade hood scoop. That was sitting at the front of the yard and it had mud all over it. I wonder what happened to the cars. From what I can tell, Google did their Streetview stuff in about late May (based on my Duster's location at my grandparent's house)

Well my use for it is pretty much, if I find a car but don't have a camera on me, I'll just go back on Street View and save a screen shot. It's pretty much the exact same as driving by and taking a picture like a lot of us do. :yesnod:

Why creepy....you can drive by and see the same thing? I did my street and it looks like they came buy over a year ago. My sons old car was here and his wifes was also. It could have been even longer since she lived with us over two years ago? I'm sure it takes a while to cruise all the roads. I also checked out a property where I went to check out 70 Cutlass SX a few years ago and I could barley make it out. I bet most never heard of an SX. They all had a 455 with a two barrel and highway gears. A recipe for a burned piston. That's why this one is sitting. Factory orange with a real straight body and complete for 2K.

The street view in my neck of the woods is about 2 years old, so it isn't the most accurate way to chase down cars. But it could be another tool in teh hunt for classics.

BTW, none of old cars are visable in the view. They were all inside at the time.
