I just got back from the Clinton, IL auto auction and the 68 Charger R/T sold for $10,000 I looked the car over and it was clean and straight, some rust under the hood and around the back window, no front seats, floors in mint condition. A lot of people there said $10,000 was too much, I heard that over and over. A lot of them called the buyer crazy. I even heard one guy say "What a piece of junk" when it left the auction block. I think most of the idiots there didn't know anything about mopars. Was this a fair price? Here is a link to the auction

I'd say that was fair, not too high and not a screamin deal either.

bull

It might be a bit high but not outragously so. Depends on the depth of the rust I guess. If it were pretty cancerous I probably wouldn't mess with it at that price but if it can clean up without metal replacement it's a fair deal.

After it sold, over half the crowd walked outside and followed the tow truck pulling the Charger. Then everybody just stood there staring at it and talking about it, even the people that said it sold for too much.   If an unrestored Charger can command that type of attention, then hell yeah it's worth $10,000  :Twocents:
