I believe radkes hemi daytona had power windows  ,he had a black one and an orange one . I could be wrong as it was a long time ago.   on that subject  since the guy in england owns the black one now. is there any recent pics of it floating around??

When I bought my superbird it was sitting in his garage next to the black hemi daytona . I told mel blanc's son noel about it. and he had the cash to buy it and i was going to restore it , but he just wanted to flip it and I wasn't really interested in doing that. I shoulda done it then it would have given me time to stretch it out and buy him out.  radke wanted a whole 20k for it .  :pullinghair:

Jim Radke and Joe Machado started the Winged Warriors Club.  C5X Daytona is Joe's son.

I wonder if there's any chance that Jim Radke would have pics of my Superbird. I know that he didn't own it for very long, maybe a couple of years at most. I need to be diligent about gathering as much info on the car as possible. At some point I will become a pest.

Okay...in my mind I think I just heard someone say "too late".  :icon_smile_big:

What is the last 6 of the vin.   I have some pictures of his yellow bird with no hood on it and a Max Wedge Cross Ram intake on it.  Radke's dad did back into the birds nose and have pictures of that too.   Around 1975ish

he's had that window sticker for better than 20 years.  a lot of guessing on those early sheets.

that's the first Hemi car I rode in...I'm thinking 1981 or so?  I rode in it again when Terry came down to Cleveland for a mini-meet my dad put on in the late 80's, and I rode in the car again at the Frankenmuth meet.  Neat to get that kind of perspective on a car like that!

somewhat whimsical how a dealer of old could check off peculiar options like a locking gas cap, toss in a luxury item like power windows, and then finish it off with "upgraded" hubcaps rather than choosing the sportier looking road wheels.

the uniqueness found in cars of old could never exist today, with the way manufacturers now insist on bundling options into group packages.

Couldn't get the road wheels on a hemi-equipped car in '68 or '69, from the factory that is. Full wheel covers or the hub caps with steelies was it. Now, if a customer wanted it bad enough, a salesperson could always swap out rims from another non-hemi car on the lot...........

But yes, those days are pretty much over when you could order so many different items and they not be part of some all-encompassing option package like today...........
