I've been pondering this a bit lately as I have a car I've been trying to sell for a couple of years now. Its a '67 Plymouth with some work put into it and still needing some work. I raced it for a couple of summers with a small block before deciding to go the resto route and started putting parts back on it. Look in this thread for some info on the car; http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,61693.0.html

So you can see I'm not asking a fortune for it. I've had a couple of offers between 1000-1200, which is stupid low, IMO. Heck, I've parted out cars in half as good of condition for between 2-3 grand. So, I have to ask myself that if I can get between 2-3 grand for it, why is it worth keeping whole. Well, it is a real solid car and it would be a shame to cut it up. I'm hoping that this winter I can finishing hooking up the fluid and electrical connections to get it running. No doubt that may help motivate some buyers.

Pros to parting; starts the disposal process, clears out parts, brings in cash, allows other cars to live. Cons; I've got to deal with parts requests, pictures, dis-assembly, and I'll still have the thing around for a couple more years while it comes apart.

Pros to selling whole; it all goes at once. Cons; it may take a couple more years.

So, what would you do?

I'd say keep it and fix it! It looks like an old drag car in that pic, so I'd just build it as a drag car.

I live in Denver and have seen your car on Craigslist for some time now. I have a cherry '66 Satellite, and am always looking around for a few extra parts. Cool car though. I used to work for a Mopar guy here in Denver and he has tons of connections, maybe he knows someone that could use it...

I suppose I could finish the body work on it, do up in a Sox & Martin red, white, and blue paint job and see what kind of interest that gets. Then I'll probably get all sorts of complaints that it isn'a Hemi, where are the keystones, blah, blah, blah. If I finish it up and try to sell it with the body work complete, regardless of color, it would be a $10k car. That just seems like a harder sell to me than $3k, but what the heck do I know.

I'd really like to put some race weight fiberglass on it and race it in NASA's American Iron series, but I don't have the  money, time, or energy to go that far with it and I'd prefer to spend that kind of effort in my E body.

I wish I had the cash, looks like a fun project that could bring out a lot of ideas.

I agree, keep it, these old cars are getting hard to find in decent shape.

HPP,

Personally what is holding most of it back it A LOT of people like running cars... even if not running perfect.

Second, the photo there the car to me appears rougher that it maybe.... so, that too would hold it back.... thus the low ball offers.....not saying its right just sayin....

I would at minimum get it runnning/driving,,,

Good luck  and Nice ride.
