I'm starting to get really p****d on the guy who promised to spray my dashboard after I fixed it up for the 25th time. :flame: I've been
waiting to start the engine for so long now so I start thinking of if there is any problem to start it without the dash installed.
I mean, temp and oilpressuregauges I have anyway so the only thing I should need would be to hook up the dashharness or?
Maybe it will not charge the battery if I don't hhok up the ampmeter but it should run on batteryvoltage?
Anyone tested this?

Per remember if you have 12 volt to ignition system it will run. Undo bulkhead connectors, be certain no hot wires are flopping around and run jumpers to ignition. Hook up temp gauges and run it off battery only for a while. Should be OK, is this for new cam break in?  :scratchchin:

Partly yes, I just want to know that the engine and tranny is OK so I can go on with the fenders, grill and hood.

I wish I knew 68 better (mine is 70) with the correct information and set up for your car I see no problem in running it.  :scratchchin: Lets see who else can chime in to help! (I'm certain you are sick of waiting for dash!)

I would want to attach a temp and oil gauge, other than that you dont need most of with wires to fire a motor.... hoook her up an go.

the ign key is on alternator side ( black wire to ammeter ). Battery wire to ammeter  is going to nowhere. You need to splice both together to get power everywhere

What I ment was that I have aftermarket temp and oilgauge aswell so I don't need power to the original ones but infact I could put the instrumentcluster on the floor and the ammeter problem is solved aswell. :icon_smile_big:

no need for that, just use a small screw and a nut to tie both wires together ( through eyetlet terminals ) and tape it good
