The last I spoke with the person I know searching for it (Feb '10), he was now strongly of the opinion that it was a styling buck with no drivetrain.

If he had Read the article of the car, then he had know that the car was just show and had no drivetrain ad all!
But thanks to Magnumcharger we know that now!
He is not looking for it any more then?
I think it is gone! or maybe he can ask it with chrysler Museum maybe they know something more, of where the car is? ;)

I love the 69 charger :2thumbs:, but my first project will be I think converting a 66 charger in to this only the rear end of it :drool5:
Only 1 thing to do, is talk to my friend about selling his 66 charger 383 to me :2thumbs:
Thats al ready is a project :icon_smile_big:

If he has read that article he has never indicated such to me.  This is just someone that I know and run into from time to time so as far as everything about his search for the car goes, he plays the cards pretty close to the vest.  He wants to know what you know but isn't going to offer much in return.  In any case, he has excellent connections with the museum and if there is anything there, he'll be onto it.
He is still looking for it.  I'm about 50/50 as to whether or not it's gone personally.

Alright good guy he is looking ad all the possible things I don't know much, I only want to find as much info of that car that I can find! if he finds it I only want the measurements for the Rear end so I can built that :2thumbs:
I hoop that the car is still around somewhere, and good luck to him with his search for it!
I would love to see that car in persoon if he finds it :drool5: :2thumbs:

The rear tail lenses are curved at the end as opposed to the straight ones on the 66 & 67 cars and the Thunder Charger....

Correct, that is so nice about that car I don't like the straight ones on the 66 it is missing something, would be a difficult thing to make but it is possible I think!

IMHO, I think that it would be a supremely attainable project to build. Sure there would be some custom fabrication to be had, but at least there's lots of good reference photos from which to scale parts up from.
Maybe Jim Rodebaugh is considering building this car to add to his collection??? :scratchchin:
1968 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S 340 convertible
1968 Dodge Charger R/T 426 Hemi 4 speed
1968 Plymouth Barracuda S/S clone 426 Hemi auto

1971 Dodge Charger R/T 440 auto
1972 Dodge C600 318 4 speed ramp truck
1972 Dodge C800 413 5 speed
1979 Chrysler 300 T-top 360 auto

I know about Jim Rodebaugh he has built a the 1964 dodge charger roadster concept car, and also has made a very cool custom convertible charger of a 1967 Coronet 500 convertible :2thumbs:.
Very nice job and it looks cool :coolgleamA:
and also the  1968 Topless Charger!! great job on that one! :drool5: :drool5: :drool5:
He is the man for the job!  :yesnod:

About the 65 charger 2: indeed it is a good thing that we have all the info and reference photo's of that car to built the rear end it. It is just extending the rear end of the 66 and make the tail light more depth in to the body. I have foth about  how to do it, now I only need a 66 charger to try it out :2thumbs:.

The front of the car I want to leave on touch! because that is a cool thing about a 66  that don't need to be change ad all :2thumbs:( I only would make the front bumper look cleaner remove the bumper bolts and make it fit better to the body ;)
I would remove the door hendels, chrome maleding on top of the charger, makes the car look longer (Chipfoose) and fuelcap and replace this to the rear end of the car behind the license plate for a cleaner look :2thumbs:

But to make it exactly how it was in 65 would be a challenging thing to do indeed, I leave that to Jim Rodebaugh to do that :yesnod:
