Well I finally have my new garage almost completed and the Charger is now moved in. I can finally finish the final prep and get paint on Charger.

My friends have been calling it the "Dodge Mahal". I like that name and may make a sign !

I wired the shop for cable, internet and surround sound. Installed lights in the attic on a switch and built storage shelves for hiding crap. 2 - 40 amp 220 plugs, tons of 20 amp plugs, track lighting for the dart board and TV, pot lights on a dimmer for parties and a high CFM exhaust fan. Heat is provided by a 45000 BTU radiant heater. Painting took a while as I used 5 colors and also taped and painted a 68 RT bumblebee stripe to separate the light and dark gray colors used on the side and front wall. I added raised sec tions on teh rear wall to accent it and break it up. I am very happy with the results. It is not a huge shop but it is going to be a nice area to work. Fortunately I have a second garage on m house so I will be able to keep only the tools I require in the shop and keep it clean and tidy. I am still in the clean up mode so it is a mess right now but within a couple of weeks it should be clean which will be nice as I have been working some long hours trying to beat winter!

I still need to:

Install molding on the bottom of the walls to floor. I am using 6 inch light gray rubber so it will be easy to clean and repel water.
Trim the door and attic access.
Wire in compressor and run hard lines.
I have ordered a formed 3/16 inch steel top for the bench.
Finish the stripes on the dart board.
Purchase and install my surround sound and big screen TV.
Build a bar and purchase some shop stools and perhaps a leather couch.

Here are some pics.

I was wondering how big the garage is?

It is not very big. 26x26 with a 9 ft ceiling. When I purchased the house it was only a 20 year old post and beam 3 bay carport but I needed another shop so with a bit, ok a lot, of work I was able to do the necessary work to make it into a garage.

Here is where I started!

Very nice garage! I can't wait until I have the money to build my own shop.

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I am going to install a gas heater before the snow flies. I'm going back and forth between a standard gas furnace or a radiant heater.  How is that radiant heater working for you?     Thanks.

Wow! awesome shop, is the stripe painted or a decal?

It is really nice. Efficient and heats up quickly. My last garage had a small forced air unit and this is much better.

I painted the stripe. A friend of mine came over and we shot elevations using a transit and made it the same size as a 68 RT stipe. Painting did not take too long but the marking and masking took three hours.

Ok, the new steel bench top is in and the pics are up and things are organized and clean. No TV or surround yet as I have run out of money, or should I say credit!

I put up a pic of a phony 42 inch TV to test fit it and also picked up a couple leather couches as the bar was not going to be comfortable enough!

Now time to get back on the car!
