I'd love to buy a set of their "Warrior" 69 recall wheels for my Daytona clone...

But the discount would have to be significant.

For $2000 + a set those wheels are awfully expensive.

Is 25% off significant enough? ;)

Yes, Yes it is...

Maybe...    ... Can you check what the cost would be for the trim ring versions... and what problems they were having...

Thanks for your work to set this deal up!!!

When I call Kelly today I'll ask about the discount on the trim ring version. The regular price is $2629.55 so they're going to be significantly higher, even with the discount. The problem is with the trim rings staying on. Perhaps you can swing a deal to buy the set without rings and get your own. :shruggy:

We're still stuck at two buyers right now so we're going to have to wait a while anyway.

Kelly @ Specialty answered a few questions I received:

Curtis,

Sounds like you have the clubs attention! Thanks for the help. I have answers for you and I have done them in the order that you asked them.

#1 The shipping to Elk Grove will be $60.00 for the set

#2 All 15x10 wheels are considered special order and the backspacing is up to the customer as long as it fits the parameters we have to work with. The most common backspace is 5.5 inches and for most all Mopars this should work.

#3 Retail on the 17x8 Magnums is $314.82 and the price for the club is $266.97 per wheel

#4 The Warrior in 15x7 with powdercoated outers will be $1575.00 for the set.

#5 My understanding is that the 69 Mopars had the trim ring version Magnums also called the Road Wheel. I have been told this on several occasions by Mopar experts.

In regards to the contact info I would like to get an initial order and then after that I will have the information in the computer under your clubs name. I think if you get that order together I will input the guys individual orders to avoid confusion.

I hope this helps and again I really appreciate you spearheading this effort.

Kelly

Curtis - Is this the price quote for the trim ring version... including the trim rings?  Or was this someone else's question, and we are still waiting for a price quote?

Thanks,

You know, I asked him specifically about the trim ring version of the Recall wheels on your behalf and that is the answer I got. Isn't it the same price as the other ones? I'll call him right now and get some clarification.

**EDIT** Yup, $1,575 is the price. I just called Kelly and he said their website doesn't have the right price on the trim ring version (too high) and the $75 difference reflects the cost of the trim rings. If you really want those you'd better get them because he told me they are going to stop making them.

I believe the chromed wheels were $1500 for a set of 4 with centers and lug nuts...  so $1575 for the set of 4 trim ring versions would be a good deal if it included centers, lug nuts, and trim rings.  Thanks, we will see what the clarification is...  :scratchchin:

Thanks... I am in for at least one set with trim rings... but I need two sets.  Let me look into creative financing... will they accept a credit card payment?  :P

Did they say how bad the trim ring retention problem was... like only when the car hits potholes?  Sorry for all the questions... but just one more: Will they sell spare trim rings at $75 per set of 4?

THANKS!!!

You're welcome! I'm having fun with this. :2thumbs: It's pretty cool being able to save my fellow Charger owners some money. I told Kelly if I had known it was going to be this easy I would have done it a long time ago. And I actually want to apologize to those of you who have purchased your wheels already that I wasn't on the ball sooner. :-\

Here's the latest, as alluded to by Steve above. I told Kelly I'm going to have you guys call your orders in to Specialty directly and start stacking them up under the dodgecharger.com umbrella. When we get three guys to call in under that name he'll set up the account and process those initial orders. From that point on all anyone has to do to get the vendor pricing at Specialty Wheel is call in their order and say they want the dodgecharger.com discount.

If you want to know the shipping price or the retail vs. vendor price on something you want I encourage you to talk to Kelly from now on because some things are getting lost in translation with me as the go-between and I don't want to be the guy who goofed up your order. Kelly can be reached until 2:30pm PST at 503-491-8848 if you have any questions. I think this is going to be a good experience. :2thumbs: Kelly has been great to work with so far and I think Specialty has a quality product.

I didn't really ask specifics about the rings but I assume they only fall off when you drive. :icon_smile_big: Just kidding. He didn't say how bad the problem was as in either minor or major but it sounds bad enough to make them want to discontinue the product. It would probably be best if you call him with that question since there's bound to be a lot of opinion involved that I'm not privvy to.

And yes, I know they take credit cards. :icon_smile_cool:

AAAAARRRRRGH!  I just ordered two sets of the "Warrior" W23 Recall Style Wheels on a credit card...  :o

Blue Thunder & SilveRR will be pleased with their Christmas presents, but Bullitt will probably hiss at me...  :slap:

BTW, FedEx shipping to North Texas for one set was $94, while FedEx shipping for two sets was $145... so I "saved" $43 by ordering two sets...  :icon_smile_wink: ...how is that for self-serving rationale?   :yesnod:
