Every Iron Maiden performance is stellar. I saw them in June 2008....amazing show. Best concert I've ever been to. They beat Metallica, Van Halen, Judas Priest, Ozzy, AC/DC...out of all the bands I've seen, they were the best live. :yesnod: I don't really have a favorite song by them, they all kick ass. I really love Fear of The Dark, Wasted Years, Caught Somewhere In Time, The Trooper...just to name a few. LONG LIVE IRON MAIDEN! :METAL:

Awwwww, yeeaaahhhh!! Big ups to the purple microdot, btw, with extra love for blue microdot and Pink Elephant, Gooney Bird, Jesus Christ, Mickey Mouse, Tasmanian Devil, Mona Lisa, Poker Dogs, and all other variations of blotter...

that said, I've seen Maiden 22 times in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, KC, Detroit, Minneapolis, Indianapolis, Toronto, Dallas, Houston, as well, as Salzburg, Austria, Munich, Germany, Nurnberg, Germany, Frankfurt, Germany, Copenhagen, and Amsterdam...other than Judas Priest, best band ever...best bass player in the history of rock and roll...MAIDEN RULEZZZZZZ!!!!!

Awesome performance! I've never been a huge Maiden fan, but (as a drummer) I could watch Nicko McBrain play all day! :2thumbs: He ALWAYS looks like he is having fun while being technically solid.

I saw a Maiden/Queensryche/Halford concert where the band was having every technical issue you could think of.  Nicko broke 2 cymbals (they literally fell off the stand) and he was beside himself with laughter... he took it all in stride and never missed a beat. Compare that to Neil Peart (Rush) who is, arguably, the best there is... that dude almost never smiles.

TylerCharger69

Yeah...being a metal drummer  I know all about busting cymbals.  So...I use 20'' and 22'' ride cymbals for crashes and I use a 24" ride for my....ride.  20" and 22" Chinas as well...but those chinas last maybe 3 months.  I used to use Zildjian...but I had to upgrade to Sabian.  Needed something that could take a beating a bit better. Anyway...Nicko is one of the better drummers in the metal world, along with Paul Bostaph, Dave Lombardo, Scott Travis, and of course the best there is...Neil Peart.  For some reason though, this song "the Clansman" never got the radio play that a lot of others got.  I think it's one of their best songs ever written.  Janick Gers brings a lot to the Iron table with his guitar work.   I saw Iron Maiden 4 times.  The Number of the Beast tour, the Piece of Mind tour, Somewhere in Time tour....but the best stage production of them all was the monsterous Powerslave tour....that in itself was just incredible!!!   I can go on and on, so I'll shut up right about now.      Ace

I saw them on the "Somewhere Back In Time" tour back in 2008 like I said and they used the original Powerslave set, it was AMAZING. :yesnod:

Like I said...I could go on and on.....lol....but for the record....IMHO....Lars Ulrich is NOT all that!!!  Tell ya what though....the drummer for Anvil is a ba-a-ad motherf****r!!!   Can't forget about him.  Sal Abruscato AND Johnny Kelly BOTH drummers for Type O Negative are pretty good too!!  Hell, people!!!  Just start listing killer drummers!!!  And yes....sorry I forgot about Mike Portnoy   and his  "Siamese Monster" drum kits

One more song.....RIME OF THE ANCIENT MARINER. The power of Maiden is really presented between 7:45-10:50

Yep....another good one.  Even the early albums with Paul Dianno as lead VOX had some killer songs on them....Wrathchild, etc.....

I LOVE Iron Maiden! I saw them live last year, and let me tell you, there is nothing else out there like them! Once you go and see them live, any other band you see will be a let down because these guys just put on such a theatrical show! Because of them, I now have read all the DUne books (What the song, To Tame a Land was about) I am a huge fan of the TV show "The Prisoner", of which they did a song about!

Here are my Favourites!

"Women in Uniform" (Skyhooks cover)

"Transylvania" Live at Reading 1982, incredible guitar solo at the end!

"Drifters" Live Beast Over Hammersmith 1982, here is the video, and then the audio (audio is better)

what is the big deal with NEIL PERT ? :scratchchin: sure RUSH has been around forever but alot of their music is mello and they are far far away from METAL i think drummers like NICKO , LARS and other METAL drummers that have been around for 25+ years blow PERT away because they are always playing at an intence high speed level .

Ummm....Lars DOES NOT blow Neil Peart away (notice the proper spelling)  Lars actually sucks.....In "Fight Fire with Fire" Those double kick drum riffs were actually overdubbed.  And just listen to that ugly sound he has on St. Anger....makes me want to vomit.  His drum playing is not all that....trust me.
