Hey guys, check this out http://www.cglfc.com/wforum/viewtopic.php?t=24215&start=15

He wants 500 bucks for the last one that was jumped.  Thats not bad... I'm just wondering if anyone here is crazy enough to save it  :D

Oh and by the way I tried to sign up to that website to flame that guy for being a fag but I have to wait for the admin to grant me access  :eyes:

I love how jump fans throw out random numbers when trying to explain how much money it would cost to fix the cars.  It needed rear quarters a trunk pan with braces and floorboards with braces.  How much does this all add up to in random number heaven for them? 50 and 25 thousand were the numbers these geniuses quoted for these parts.  Granted the car needed more misc pieces than what I stated it would not even cost a quarter of either of those two numbers if the buyer did the work themselves such as many of you guys have.  I just think the whole thing is stupid, the guy spends time buying fixing and painting these cars to make them "jump worthy" why not just go the whole 9 yards and finish the resto you started?...

ooo ggrrrr i hate that guy.. its too far gone.. gee, glad the guy who found his general in the pond didnt think so.

what a douchebag... hey jim.. link this thread, i want him to know that i called him a douchebag.

he doesnt love his chargers, he loves the money he gets for jumping his chargers to a crowd of 10,000 spectators.  If he loved his chargers, he would be losing money on the jumps each year.. that is love.  He loves money.. where is that BULLSHIT smiley when you need it.

Yea, he's already flaming me kinda, not like it's dang first time though  ::)

The guy that has the charger that was found in the pond has more respeack for chargers.

What gets me is, this guy says it's not worth fixing but yet he will fix it up to jump it though and he tells me I have afew screws loose  :smilielol:. I would say if it was not worth fixing up then it's not worth jumping either  :shruggy:

Me too.  If it was my show there might be an orange car flying with a 01 on the side, but it wouldn't be a Charger.

How about jumping an early 1990's ford Thunderbird? It could resemble a charger from the side if painted orange.............OK maybe not  :smilielol:

1. It's a 2 door car

2. Rear wheel drive

3. A piece of crap nobody would miss and not worth anything

Thank you guys for fighting the good fight this moron is being backed into a corner and more members on the forum are starting to get the balls to speak up too.  The admin hasn't approved my login yet but you can bet just as soon as he/she does OH ITS ON LIKE DONKY KONG

Here's another question. If these were factory Hemi cars would they be too far gone and therefore jumped? Propably not, well if that is the case then THEY ARE NOT TOO FAR GONE!! Yes I understand that there is a difference between a 318 car and a Hemi car, but don't just use the easy out as saying they are too far gone when reality is they propably aeren't.

The other guy on the other forum is using that excuse as we speak... "well if it was a hemi it would  be different" NO IT WOULDN'T aside from the motor mounts EVERYTHING is the same(almost) if a Hemi is saveable than a 318 is too because everything is the same so a 318 body IS a hemi body and vise versa.  You should look at the guys pictures, at first you'll go HOLY CRAP.  But then once you actually start thinking about it and what the pieces cost like the full floors from amd, its really not as far gone as he claims it to be.

I tryed point out that all chargers are the same really, all the differents are is just afew items onboard them is all. But look at the guy last reply over there  :o to the follow member "Traveler".

What forum or website are you all debating on? I would like to see what the other sides arguments are.

You could run a '71 HemiCuda convertible through a compactor and turn it into a cube, and somebody would probably insist on "restoring" it.  But that still doesn't mean it's actually restorable in any realistic sense.

LoneStar Mopar

Darn, the pics are blocked here at work. I will check it out again tomorrow at home. Still read the thread. I agree with the guy on the statement that people who let their chargers rot into the ground are guilty for killing them too. Other than that I fail to see much of his logic.

I like how he said he will find every last junk charger he can and will jump them until they are gone. This guy sounds dangerous to the hobby. I assume as the truly junky chargers are getting more scarce the higher his expectations will get as to what is a "restorable" charger. Especially when he is making $$$ by doing it. He sounds like the type of person that would jump a perfectly restored charger as long as he made money off of the deal.

It is like on a truck forum I am on. Alot of those guys part out perfectly restorable vintage trucks just because they can make a few more bucks off of them that way than by selling them as projects. They will do it as long as there is one more left to do it to and they can make a dollar. They truly dont care about the vehicles or the hobby at all; just their pocketbook!!

Fact 1) Anything can be fixed. It may NOT be worth the time and money, but it can.

Fact 2) He owns the car and it is his to do what he wants with it. It's NOT my taste, but it's NOT my choice.

Fact 3) You will ALLLLLLWAYS have people on 2 sides of a line. Why push what won't gain you anything?

Fact 4) Someone made money on parts the car needed and the owner made money on his stunt. In this day and age I would say that's a good thing. Besides, when there are only a few thousand 1969 Chargers left those of you that own one will have very rare cars. Who would want a 1 of 2000 left car??
