Did anyone else catch the documentary on VH1 last night?  Man these guys still rock!!!  Glad to see that they are having somewhat of a rebirth.  I barely remember them from my teenage years.

They will be on the tonight show on tuesday.

If Cody doesn't come on this thread and comment, he needs to forfeit his heavy metal card, turn in his guitar for an obo, and get a crew cut

Metal on Metal  It's the only way!!!    Anvil is the s**t   it's about time they are getting the recognition they deserve!!!

oldrock

we  saw that one. I had never heard of them back in the day but was fun to see older guys still chasing the dream.

Being in the metal scene since the early 80's...I've had the pleasure of opening up for these guys twice. (Amongst many others) I just can't see why they didnt go as far as other bands did.....they were way better than a lot of bands back then too!!!  Well...finally....their time has come!!!

I believe that was Anvil's 4th album...1987?...what a kick-ass record. I saw it at a place I used to frequent in the Army in Lawton, OK called "Half-price Records, Pipes, and Books" (I went just for the tunes and reading material... ::) ) and bought it. Still can't believe those guys didn't get bigger than they did. Glad to see their story being told.

Strength of Steel, Concrete Jungle, I Dreamed It Was The End Of The World ...great effort by Anvil. Figgered YOU'd have it John!! (btw, 8 of 11 Massacres burnt; rest this week, I SWEAR...PM me your addy again, pleeeeez)

Without being near my DirecTV, anyone able to tell me when the next showing is? Will it be shown again? Anyone catch the 2 Thin Lizzy specials this past week? WOW. Anyone have Palladium on their box? Wanna get that channel added...HD Rock-N-Roll, 24/7....NEED IT.

BTW, "TylerCharger"...must've missed it, but what band did you pound skins for? Cool gig...

Oh, man...I was a major band slut back then.  I basically played on the Texas underground circuit for many years with bands called Whiteheat, Vengeance, Last Legacy, Entombed (Texas), Refuge Denied, a couple of cover bands, 17 all together a lot not worth mentioning, and of course the current Sevendeadly.  Plus, I work for a production company where we do a lot of the lighting and P.A. stuff so getting the foot in the door wasn't a real big deal.  I was in a cover band called Outrage here in Corpus Christi, (really not worth mentioning) and we opened for Pat Travers.  After the show, I was offered a position in his band, replacing Aynsley Dunbar, but my wife was pregnant with my first child at the time so I had to decline.  Wish I would've made a different decision back then....lol.   I was really flattered and surprised at that offer!!!   You can check out some recent demos I've done at numberonemusic.com/sevendeadly       for whatever it's worth.

TylerCharger, I most definitely will. I love Pat Travers...he used to play a club in Canton, OH a lot back in the mid-80s called Trippers Nite Club. Me and my crew used to go and see him whenever he came. Wow... areplacement for Aynsley Dunsbar? That IS flattering...sorry you had to pass; hindsight sucks ass. Peace.

John...got your msg. Talk at ya soon...MW
