Is it preferable to install some bars in the dooropenings in a convertible before it goes into the roteserie due to risc of flexing or will
the rote..construction take that up? :scratchchin:

1968 Dodge Charger - 6.1L Hemi / 6-speed / 3.55 Sure Grip

2013 Dodge Challenger R/T - 5.7L Hemi / 6-speed / 3.73 Limited Slip

1964 Dodge Polara 500 - 440 / 4-speed / 3.91 Sure Grip

1973 Dodge Challenger Rallye - 340 / A-518 / 3.23 Sure Grip

Most pro resto shops seem to prefer adding some reinforcing bars in some way.  They might attach some fairly light tubes with a MIG welder (to be removed later when the car is off the rotisserie), or sometimes they fabricate bolted-on pieces that attach to the hinges & strikers in the doorjambs.

I would install an X brace in the passenger compartment.
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior
68 383 auto with a/c and power windows. Now 440 4 speed jj1 gold black interior .

Although I haven't ever done a rotessirie resto, I know people who have. It definately needs bracing, I knew of a 70 Cuda convert locally that was not, and when they went to install doors...they would NOT line up, the body flexed that bad out of shape. He ditched the project then. Last time I saw it , it was a freshly painted shell...collecting dust.

OK, that's what I needed to hear. :2thumbs: In fact I can do that while the doors still are hanging to minimize sacking or? :scratchchin:

If alignment is questionable, use jacking under the rocker panels to get the door alignment perfect. Then you can open or remove the doors to weld in the bracing. Don't forget to check for twist.
