I was working on my trans and had the front jacked up a bit, but not enough to cause this!

That wouldn't be caused by jacking it up anyway, just old age.  You can get a steering wheel repair kit from Eastwoods and try it youself or get it redone by one of the people out there who specialize in it.

Gary's steering wheel Resto did mine it was about $700 but I have to say it was money well spent. All cracks were fixed perfect. I hate to see cars that are restored and they skimp on the steering wheel, and leave it all creaked up.
