I was thinking of putting my stock VB back in with the addition of a shift kit maybe.  Currently I am running a reverse manual VB.

Is this just a simple, drop pan &  R & R or does it involve trans removal?   I realize I'd have to get my kick down linkage back in order as well....

As an aside may I ask why, I thought you really liked the manual vb?

The ability to revert to an automatic VB depends entirely on whether or not the governor components are still in place. If the governor was removed when the RMVB was installed you'll have to remove the tailhousing and replace the missing components.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Hmmmm...good question.  I seem to remember when a friend & I rebuilt it 12 years ago, we did do something to the governor :scratchchin:

Scratch this idea ;)

Thanks John

I'd like to find one of those old Airtemp dealer add-on units.

From what I remember Classic Auto Air is supposed to be restoring these parts...    but they might need cores...       As far as the compressors they are easy to find - rebuilding is not rocket science either.

Condensers can be purchased new along with the dryer...    so what exactly do you need ?  The proper lines for underhood ?  anything else ?  Shoot me a list if you want and i'll keep my eyes open.

This is another consideration, If the original builder intalled a rollerized rear support, than it wouldn't be a direct bolt-in. Most Rollerized rear supports don't seperate the oil lub circuit(cooler return) with the gov circuit.
