Went to the KWS concert tonight

And it was a great time for the wife and me.  We could only stay until 10pm though as we had to get back to our kids (sorry Kenny, it is a school night  :yesnod: , the wife is a teacher) and we had 85 miles to travel.

Did not want to say until after the concert was over, but Kenny is a awesome person.  He provided my wife and I "meet and greet" passes to see him and his lead singer Noah Hunt.  I got to meet two of his uncles, one is from independence, mo (Jim was his name), and his other uncle Don.  Actually I met his cousin, her husband, and two of his aunts too.  It was a good time waiting to see Kenny and getting to thank him for all that he provided my wife and I.  (thought I would have loved to sit around and talk shop with him over a beer, there were others wanting to get things signed/autographed or to chat, so maybe next time Kenny:  Beer, Lawnchair, and shop talk is on me.

We got to watch him play "deja voodoo", "come on", and "was" not in that order.  My wife fell in love with blues/rock tonight I tell ya.

I will never forget this experience as the wife and I do not get out much.  The night started out alright, we went to dinner at the "range" in the casino.  Kenny walked in and found a table in the back to eat.  He didnt know who I was at that time and I knew better to interrupt him during his supper as that is rude (for all you crazed fans, this is rude, well thats my  :Twocents: anyway). Well, its about that time that the table right next to us had this guy who seemed to have asked every single waitress in the restaurant "is that Kenny Wayne Shepherd?"  Of which they all replied yes.  This feller then devised a plan to go and meet Kenny with a ruse of it being an accident.  The whole time my wife and I are listening to this guy, we decided to wonder if Kenny gets crazy's like this feller wherever he goes (of which I would most likely say yes to that).  This guy is so star-struck that he moves to the other seat just so he can keep an "eye" on Kenny to ensure that his sneak attack could be perfectly timed.  It was sad, hilarious, and scary at the same time.  Dont know if he "pounced" on Kenny or not, but the wife and I left before this feller could make himself look like any more of a donkey then he already was.

Anywho, here are the pics (some not so good, it was a camera phone afterall), but they are what they are:

KENNY, THANK YOU FOR THIS EVENING.  I WILL REMEMBER WHAT YOU DID FOR MY WIFE AND I ALWAYS.

I know you may never require anything from me, but if you do, just let me know and I will be there for you.  It will be my honor and privilege.

Sounds awesome, I will have to see if he is coming to the Detroit area anytime soon.

Kenny's a good dude for sure. Haven't been to one of his concerts yet, but I've met him a few times at local MOPAR events and other car stuff and he's always happy to say hi and shoot the breeze w/ the guys (esp. if its about cars!)  :2thumbs:

Just checked his tour schedule and he's going to be very close in November - at Seneca Casino in Niagara Falls, NY.
Only single tickets left and they're waaay off to the side and at the back.  :rotz:

I know someone who used to work there. I'm going to try and see if I can finagle a pair of comp'd tickets.

I should have been paying more attention to local events. KWS is playing here in the Twin Cities tonight with special guest Cory Stevens. Oh well. Maybe next time.
