Horn Pics

Anyone have some pics of Sparton Hi-Lo horns installed on a 70 Charger?  Not sure exactly of the location or what mounting holes to use.  Thanks.

at a side of radiator ( passenger side ON ENGINE BAY ). You'll find the nuts attached to radiator core support and the key hole at a side.

thats the horn relay , can't remember what the picture is from!!    its a second generation  though !! save it along time ago , can't even  remember why now      , the horn bolts  go in it to welded rectangle nuts on  core support

I haven't seen any Spartan horns on any Chargers - all Prestolite - but I have seen them on other (predominantly St. Louis built) B-Bodies. But I haven't seen 1/2% of all built. Anyone have (original to the car) Spartans? Just a little slightly off-topic curiosity.

My 70 didn't have any horns when I got the car so that's why I have questions.  I got the Spartons off of eBay.  Not sure if they are correct, but figured it didn't matter for my driver.  I just checked my M&H wiring harness and it does not have a relay connection at the horn location, just the two green wires for the horns.  Could the horn relay be under the dash on the 70's?  It is on my E-Body.  I guess NAPA carries the horn relays?

horns have a date code on them, but may be buried under paint.

this a 1969 and I am pretty sure they are Prestolites, I remember they were in fact dated correct for this car.

They sure do look very similar to mine. I will look at what numbers that are one there, get a picture as well. I definately have prestolites, because I can recall it is spelled right out on both of them.

Yep, those are Prestolite horns. The date code will be stamped on the trumpet area, sometimes they are light and can be covered in paint.
Weren't the horn bolts dark gray phosphate as well maxwell?? I've seen them plated that color as well. In Bill's pic they look a little golden?
The bolt type is correct, the washer is serrated to ensure a proper ground.

I 'used to' think all horn bolts were dark grey/black phosphate , till someone showed me several originals that were brownish color, so IMO both would be correct

Thanks for the clarification on the bolts. Yep, mine are dark gray as well. 
Head marking should be the anchor as pictured.

Date code on the horns is on the short flat side of the trumpet. Just had a matching dated set of '69 horns I let go...

Those horn mounting bolts are available from some of the reproduction parts stores. I got mine from Megaparts.

So it was in a different location but did the 70 relay look the same as the older relays?

On my '70 I switched out the engine harness because it needed it.  I had a '68/'69 engine harness new in the box.  So, I am using it.  The 2 changes of note seem to be the electronic voltage reg on the '70s.  The plug was available at O'reillys and the conversion simple on the voltage regulator, but what about the conversion on the harness for the horns.  What will I need to do on the harness to delete the horn relay considering it is located under the dash?

I happen to be in the process of restoring my horns.  They are original Prestolites.  Build date for my car is 11/30/68.  Date code on the HI horn is the 46th week of 1968 or 11/11/68-11/17/68.
