Picked up a new Daily Driver...

Hey guys -

Picked up a new daily driver this weekend - got a 2006 SRT8 Magnum w/ 24k on the clock and so far so good. Drove it home from GA to NYC and the thing is honestly a blast. I was also able to manage 21 mpg hwy, with the cruise set at 75mph... not too bad considering it's a 425hp station wagon. The previous owner put a cat-bak exhaust on it which I am removing in favor of stock - I need this be "somewhat" quiet. I've been driving old stuff for so long that I'd forgotten how good the new stuff really is - it's good though as it will help achieve some new goals for the new builds.

Cheers  - Mike

I think it needs a second gen body transplant if possible. That way you could have the best of both worlds.

Mike, do you have the stock exhaust already.  I have the suitcase and the rear mufflers as well. They are off my 08 Chally(SRT-8 as you already know :2thumbs:). I chopped that exhaust up and put Dynomax Ultras on there.
You are more than welcome to have them and all you'll need to do is weld in a couple pieces here and there I'm sure.

If not you can always go to chargertalk.com or challengertalk.com.  You can usually find stock exhausts on there pretty cheap. Let me know if you want to see pics of what I have. The diference is these are free and no shipping.  :icon_smile_big:
I've been looking for an excuse to get to the city to take some pictures and would be happy to drive a few minutes out of the way and drop them somewhere for you. I'll also be passing through on the 9th heading to Virginia.

I also dig the Magnum! I've seen a few around here and always look at it and go man, I could put a heck of a sound system in there!
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Hey Dude...

I do actually have the entire rear exhaust. Just have to re-weld a new flange on the front right and I should be good to go. I would actually like to see any pics you have of the install though. If you're coming up here on the 9th maybe we can meet up, just shoot me a PM with your schedule.

Mike, I'm actually just flying by on the 9th on the way to Virginia but wouldn't mind saying howdy over a bagel or sumthin'  If you would have needed the exhaust I could have made a trip down there on the 3rd and dropped em off ran around the city and then jetted back up here. Hope that all made sense(i rarely do though so forgive me)
I plan on leaving my house around 0230-0300 on the 9th which puts me in the city close to 0800. No pressure though.... that is pretty early to be all friendly and stuff. LOL  But sure wouldn't mind saying hey!

I do have pictures of my exhaust getting chopped I just need to find them and I'll send them to your email.
