I wasn't really looking to take on another project however I couldn't resist stealing this 2001 Ford Mustang Convertible with a v6 automatic with 187k miles yesterday for $1,500 when it hits 200k miles I will toss the 3.8L v6 and put in a 7.5L v8... guy said there was something wrong with the radio, so I pulled it out... looks like someone "forked" the wires at some point in time.

Those wires are kind of a mess aren't they?  The rest of the car looks pretty good though.

 Looks like a good (not great) deal. I'm not lookin up NADA or Kelly's but that sounds about right for an '01 with nearly 200g's. I think I would drive it around,, ALOT and not change a thing, (untill something broke). I think I would make it my new daily summer driver and not mess it up or mess with it at all (it looks very clean). Enjoy it for a while, possibly a loong while before tearing it up.. (uh, I mean tearing into it). Enjoy it the way it is!! Looks like a fun car!!

I had an 01 GT a couple years, nice car. A rebuilt V6 may be better when current mill croaks.

Nice score, $1,500 for a convert is worth the cash.  

Now that your looking for the six to blow up, it will live forever, Just use it for a daily driver and enjoy the nice fall weather with the top down.

Thanks, yeah it's strange - only the front left and rear right speakers work and there's no bass to either (could those cut wires goto the amp?). Installed the trunk covers that were laying in the rear seats.

Nah, I'm not like that. I just posted ads for him around town, in the classifieds, on Craigslist & Used Victoria etc. He made the price and the ad.

  hard to know what the owners have done  previously !! & did they even know what they was doing in the first place ,  could be a wiring problem to the amps , croded conections , looks like they have getting wet back there ,   to me that empty multi plug connector on the back of the radio , that is missing , is the factory set up for the oem speakers , think i would be  tracing all the wires from the amp to see  where they go , my bet is  the speaker wires behind the radio , are  just conected togeather ,  RF LF RRLR , think i would be deffo unrapping the harnesses to see what going on , no telling what some other dude has done

I tossed the stock Ford Wheels P205/65/R15 Michelin Tires, painted the brake calipers and threw on some Cragar (Torque Thrust) Wheels P235/55Z/R17 Pirelli Tires... Daisy did most of the supervising (ain't she so cute?).

 Joey, try Crutchfield.com they're websites pretty easy to navigate. You should be able to locate the stereo wire diagram on their site, it will tell you exactly what wires and what colors etc. Its a very good site and a very respectable company. I've ordered a ton of things from them through the years and I've never, not one time been disappointed. The web site and wire diagram info is free on their site! Just navigate around a bit and answer the questions, easy peezy!
