I have had a couple of people over to look at this and have gotten mixed answers. Some say just replace the bottom rear portion that is basically rotted out and weld the part by the door jamb back together while the others say replace the whole thing. What do you guys think?

Oh yeah, it also looks like it was riveted on for some reason right there under the roof seam. Not sure if that should be a concern or not.

:iagree:

+1. My quarters were nearly rust-free with some not-too-bad dings. After much hand-wringing, we concluded that the labor to fix them was as much as brand new AMD metal, which was a perfect fit and arrow straight.
Edit; by replacing the quarters, you also get to see all the scary things hidden underneath.

Ok, fellas, I get the drift. That is what I figured, but wanted to run it by the experts first.
Where is the best/cheapest place to order AMD quarters from. I usually get everything from Dante's, but not sure if their quarters are AMD. I think Dante's has quarters for $750 right now. I assume AMD b/c of the fit?
Thanks

My body guy has been a professional restorer since the '80's. We were discussing repair/replacement and costs, since my originals were so solid. We had decided to remove the originals in any case to repair and get behind them. He wouldn't allow me to make a decision about replacing them until he put his hands on the AMD Charger quarters at the Nats. He ordered them when he inspected them without further discussion. My point is that no other available replacement was even up for consideration. I can't tell you my cost, I was back in theater by the time wifey paid the bill.

I've used skins before-NEVER AGAIN!   The AMD panels fit like a glove! :2thumbs: I was kind of surprised the amount of movement there was though in shipping, but a little filler and they are looking awesome.  They come in a 10' long box..

I bought all of my AMD from Columbia Parts in Seattle.  Chris is the owner and a great guy.  If you call him, he will usually work on a better price.  :2thumbs:

Maybe a dumb question but why not ordered straight from AMD?  Seems like they would be the cheapest since that would be direct  :shruggy:.

Thanks!  It's been an expensive process, but worth it.  It's almost road ready..... Here's an updated picture-

I had to purchase the following from AMD, and it all fit like a glove!

Rear Quarters
Rockers-I believe I literally got the first set - good timing!
Floors
Front valance
Rear valance
end caps

Needed to get doors and a hood also, but found them semi locally through this forum - saved bunch of money!

I think that AMD sells at full retail so they don't compete with their distributors.  Compare AMD to ADeals or any of the other resellers and see what you get.  I've personally done a lot thru Adeals and I think they don't stock the stuff but just have it shipped directly from AMD. They'll also combine shipping costs to save a few bucks.
