2010 Challenger-they're already into the third year of production

I just realized that they are now into the third year of production and are selling 2010 Challengers. I still don't think I've seen more then 15 on the road and I live in the LA area.

I've gone from 2007 when I had to have one, to 2008 when I still wanted one to now in 2009 I'm not sure if I want to buy one anymore.  They are kind of blending in and starting to look like all the other cars. However, I feel like I should buy something (Challenger/Shelby Mustang/Camaro) like its 1969 and here's my chance to buy a new muscle car or I'll be missing my chance. But $35K + is a lot of $$$.

Anyone else having the same issue?

new cars in general are just way high in price...and the Challenger's price doesn't help either. I'd love an R/T but even just a v6 around here goes for around $26k or so. F that!!

I've seen a few around, as well as new Camaros. I can always spot a Challenger from far and it is truly a great looking car, respecting the old school design but in a cool, modern way. I guess it's the "oopss, sorry we raped the Charger" apology from Dodge/Chrysler/Fiat/whoeverownsitnow.

I don't think the new Chagnum could it be done worst LOL, so they haven't changed anything on them... why ? if they are SORRY about that, why they haven't introduced something new on them ? ( even still being 4 doors )

these cars are not worth what they're selling them for. If I were to buy $35000 car it wouldn't be anything new, I'd invest in classic....even if it was Chevy

I would love to buy one but the dealers around me still have a 5 to 12 thousand mark up on them.

I could probably leave my area and eventually find one for the rigth price but its not work the hassle.
Also with my last Dodge dealer experience getting my PT serviced I don't know if its worth buying Chrysler anymore.

For now I'll keep driving my 2001 PT

I have seen a ton of them on the roads here....maybe its an 818 thing 

I still want one, but I think I'm gonna hold on to the Charger another year or two and pay it off some more, then wait and see if Chally prices come back down to earth and there are more used ones for sale. If not, I'm seriously considering a C5 Z06....

Anyone watch NCIS LA the other night? The two main actors drive around in a black one. Although in one scene it was an R/T, the next an SRT8 and the next it was just an SE. Make up your mind guys!!!

I'd love to have an SRT8 but only if they would bring the prices back down to earth. 38 grand for an R/T? I dont think so. a 425 horsepower camaro is only 30,000. If they would charge 25 grand for an R/T and 32 for an SRT8 they would sell a hell of a lot more. Maybe I will aim for a used one in a few years.

I bought a new 2009 R/T 6-speed and I really like it.  I ordered it in Jan and got it in April so got the employee price plus $1000 off to finance with Chrysler Financial and 0% interest for 60 months.  Best deal I ever got plus I got the exact car I wanted.  Figured I better get something to enjoy since it's going to be a few years before the 69 Charger is on the road.  I see Challenger R/T's in the $33k to $34k area for sale on occasion.  They don't have all the fancy electronic whizmo's on them but neither did the one I ordered.  If anyone is on the fence get off and order one.  The car is a lot of fun to drive, gets 26 mpg on the interstate, and gets a lot of attention every time I drive it anywhere.  There are not a lot of them here in Chattanooga.  I have only seen two or three in the wild.  Being Hemi Orange it does stand out from the crowd.

IF i was so lucy that i could get a new Challenger for just $35 000, i would be a happy guy.
IF i should pay the taxes here in Norway the Challenger would cost aprox... hold your on to your head......$250 000,-

I bought the '08 and from an appearance and total performance aspect it is worth more than they are asking (compared to the German stuff). The thing does everything right! It accelerates like a scalded dog, the Brembo's work flawlessly and it drives and corners like it's on rails. The seats are great. The men want it, the chicks dig it - it's got eyeballs galore!

So, being a guy that can't leave anything alone... I put on a Corsa exhaust, Cold air intake, Diablo chip tweak and lowered it 1" all around. It rocked before - it really rocks now!

Unfortunately....the good woman has insisted that I wait until spring to buy it, which means PC will likely no longer be avaliable.
And being a good husband (who would be spending part of his wife's income to buy it), I keep the peace.

There is a guy in our local Mopar club with four new Challengers already with a fifth on the way.  His last SRT8 was dropped off by the car carrier directly from Dodge. They backed it off the trailer, then shut the car off and pushed it into his shop.  It has one mile on it.  His plan is to let it sit for twenty years on dollies.  This may sound excessive to some but the guy also owns around twenty 70-71 B and E bodys, a new Charger R/T for his wife and two Vipers. I am not joking.   I guess the economy is not hurting him any.

Sounds like the guy who recently sold that 1988 IROC that was rolled off the car carrier and into a storage bin for 21 years. I think as a general rule, you never really make money on those cars. I think he bought it for $12K and sold it for $25K. With inflation etc., if that guy would have taken the $12K he paid for the IROC and put it into stocks/bonds/bank etc. he would have made more money.

But if I hit lotto in the next few years, at least I know there is a new challenger out there waiting for me to buy

I can't drive to work without seeing half a dozen or more Mustangs.

I see more 04-06 GTOs than I see Challengers.

I just don't see that many on the road.

Just this past week it has got so I see more new Camaros than I have Challengers.
