Most cars are being built in China already to some extent, including BMW's and Mercedes.   American car companies are investing hundreds of millions there already.    Weird huh.  A Mercedes built in China.   And they own Dodge, right?

If the '70 Hemi Challenger was built again, what would have to be differnt?  Emissions, fuel injection, ABS, airbags?  How original could it be?  Would it cost less money to make than other new cars because they already have the design, molds, all that?  Or would they have to spend a lot to make it meet emisions and safety?   It probably would be hard to do.  But they should.  That would be awesome.  I would buy one, also.  Would it cost more because it would use more metal?  Or is metal cheap in China.   I don't know.    ???   :stirthepot:

Why would you want anything else?  Just give me a Charger and I'll be happy.

Well John, I don't know if I'm going to make it to the swap meet over in Columbus. We really didn't do that much business last year. But we do plan on being at the Indy swap meet. We did a lot better on the local shows than we did on the Mopar Shows. We still plan on making it to Vegas, Carlisle, Englishtown, and the Monster Mopar show in St. louis and the two indy shows. But I don't think we are going to try to do anything at any of the other shows other than just enjoy the show.

I hear ya there.  I'm still up in the air about Englishtown.  I went from '89-'03 and skipped '04 and by request, went back this year but the show just ain't the same as it was back in it's glory years.  It's gonna take some serious arm-twisting to get me to go back in '06.  We'll be at all the other events though.  See ya there!!!

I'm thinking that I'll be taking my 500 to the Englishtown event. I think I'll drive it over for the weekend. I don't know if we will shoot anything, but I am pretty sure I inted to at least take the car.

Wow, that's a pretty long drive for the ol' 500.  I don't know when I'll make the executive decision about whther we're going or not.  Heck, it might even be the week of the event!

Well I figure that as long as the car isn't overheating anymore next spring I intend to drive to every show that I can. Carlisle, Englishtown, Mopar Nats, Monster Mopar in St. Louis, and maybe even Big Daddy's show.

Ghoste

That's been my goal for several years in a row now but work and wife always intervene.  ::)

Hey that's really cool!  Nothing quite like road tripping in an old aero car!

Those two factors (work and wife) can tend to be a bummer sometimes...

I just seen it and replied.

Those sets and cars are way, way cool!

I don't have one of the race sets yet but I bought the #99 Charlie Glotzbach Daytona.  I took it to the local slot car racing facility but was too paranoid to take it out on the track so I left it in the box and bought a really cool '75 Greenwood Corvette and raced it instead.  Them cars run really good.

Go ahead and bring the Corvette, the Winged cars need something to beat up on, other than themselves.

I guess I'll just have to wait and see for myself. Maybe I'll try to get an extension to the current track and run it in a 4 lane configuration instead of just a 2 lane track.

Ghoste

Shouldn't the Vette be forced to meet a minimum weight?  Surely the toy ones are lighter than a wing car just as the full scale versions.

69_500

Nah, its all good. No need to weigh them. As long as he doens't make me open the hood on the Daytona and reveal any reported Illegal HEMI or anything like that.

Hey now!  They'll be none of this "cheating" stuff!  Oh, did I mention the under-car magnets the dude at the slot car track talked me into buying for the Greenwood Vette to keep it glues to the track better in the curves???

Told ya!  It's Vette stuff.  It's just like that guy in the FAST class with the 427 Vette.  He's cheating too.  Vette guys can't help it, they all cheat.

69_500

Hmmmm, under car magnets huh.

Well then. HMMMM.

Awwwwww come on y'all!   I ain't as bad as the dude who races the Vette in the F.A.S.T. Class!   At least when it comes to 1/1 scale cars, I still race a Mopar wing car!   Oh wait, I forgot about the Vega!
:smilielol:

Oh hey, here's a pic of the mighty Grenwood Vette!
