Never been near them.

simple terms, a bar that bolts / welds from the back of the front frame to the rfront of the back frame. This stiffens the car and gives it a "full frame" eliminates the body from bending or twisting. also firms teh old girls up a bit.

there are many different types

Thank ya sir. Is it important to get one? Or is the "body twisting" not an important thought?

Cody

Hemidog

They were part of the original design for most Mopars, but were axed before the plans hit the factory to lower costs.

if you intend to run a mill with decent power (400+ maybe) i would consider them a neccessity.
Remember the average response time to a 911 call is over 4 minutes.

The average response time of a 357 magnum is 1400 FPS.

I keep hearing people say "Do it if your going to run a decent motor"

Yes of course do that, but people dont realize that not only do they firm up the body from twisting from torque but they are an AMAZING help with general stability from normal driving.

I just had them done in my car, i gotta say i noticed a difference the second i pulled out of the shop and went off the bump of the driveway i noticed a difference. The car felt so much stiffer and "together" on the ride home. When  i finally got back i waited at a red light and nailed it. Rather then the front going lop sided it was much more uniform and the launch felt completely different.

Get em!!

I actually think the link that was posted way up at the top the guy with the blue 3rd gen had the same shop do his...seems like they look the same and he paid what i paid...

charger_cody

Ok new question.....

Would i be OK without them?

Cody

FLG

Yes for normal driving most of these cars never see them. They flex a bit and thats fine. Start putting some decent power down and now there twisting much more then they were "designed" to and you start tweaking sheet metal.
