So heres the deal.  When I have the car in park It will fire up and idel just fine after about a min.  I can rev it up and it reves great but as soon as i put it in gear it wants to die and I have to pump it to get going and once it it rolling it works great.  When I come to a stop light it idels great but as soon as I want to accelerate it wants to die and I have to pump it.  Any help might be great.  I have a Holly 600cfm Street Avenger on a 318.  The carb is about 4 years.

Do I need to clean the carb, rebuild, or  adjust it?

Help me...

Oh yeah,  When I picked up the car last year it was running strong and sounded great.  It was in storage all winter but did fire it up a few times and when I got it out it took a bit to get it running.  I changer the plugs, wires, cap rotor, fuel filter, and air filter a few weeks ago.  When I put the pedal to the floor it feels boggy but again it idels great.

A couple things.... when you stored the car last year, did you put any fuel stabilizer in it?  If not, it could have gummed up the carb a bit.  Sounds like you might have two problems on your hand.  First is when the car dies when you put it in gear, your idle may need to be bumped up a bit as the screw may have backed out making it idle too low in drive and causing it to stall.  Secondly, when you give it gas to accelerate, it dies.  Could be the signs of a acelerator pump or pistion going bad.

Just my thoughts on the matter.
