what would this BIG BLOCK BELL HOUSING be used for ?

i think that is one of the universal bellhousings that could be used for BB, SB and /6's but man i aint sure on that one.  just a guess.

It's an Industrial bellhousing.

Note the clutch bellcrank pivot on top and the mounting feet on the bottom. They're set up for either left or right hand clutch fork actuation, usually with a hand lever and to be mounted in a fixture by the feet in addition to the motor mounts. Likely it would have run a generator or pump.

I'll buy that for a dollar. Could have been used in medium trucks between the frame rails. still, I've seen half a dozen running irrigation pumps.

Pics are down, so can't tell whether it had a hydraulic throwout or not. Bellhousing was for Dodge trucks, '68-previous had hydraulic throwout, '69-later had mechanical w/fork. Bellhousing had feet for frame mounts, and has the same size hole as a833 OD transmissions.
