i hate to say it but i am having clutch issues......  normal driving and even respectable hard shifting it is fine, but if i go for all out speed shifts my clutch will flair by the time i am making the 3-4 shift.  it is a brand new centerforce dual friction. i went through the proper break in procedure but sadly i am out of warrenty with it by time now. (3 month)  all linkage is adjusted properly, and i have no binding problems under full throttle.  if the weather ever dries up i will get a video of it occuring, but for the time being what are you guys running in performance applications?

I use a Ford long style with 1100 lbs static and a 10 puck disk...not a big fan of that CF clutch..I wont even install them any more just too many unhappy campers when it comes to that clutch :Twocents:

i had great luck with them in my mustang, but the mopar makes more power.....lol

what is involved with swapping to your style clutch? or is it direct bolt in?  how is the pedal feel?

I was just working my way to ordering a centerforce to go with my heavy flywheel, thinking the reduced pedal effort would make it a nicer driver in traffic and be easier on my GF when she's driving.

What do the unhappy campers say?

I've been running an Alum/steel face flywheel with MP 10.5" Borg & Beck pressure plate. Never fails, but pretty stiff at the pedal.

mine is the 11 inch model with a stock flywheel.  the pedal is awesome, nice and soft, almost feels hydraulic. you can really feel the weights apply pressure when you wing the motor up in high rpms. its great for city driving. i just am having an issue after a complete 4 gear speed shift. 1-2 and 2-3 and hard hitting and great but at the 3-4 it flairs noticably.  not sure what the issue is. i have not contacted centerforce yet about my problem. i have ran their clutches for quite some time in 11 second cars without issue. this is my first problem so i hope it is just a fluke.

get a mcleod street twin. it will be the last clutch you will buy.i use them in all of my cars.one is over 15 years old.i'm rebuilding the motor, but putting the same clutch in.my 580 makes 850 hp in a 3800 pound charger and the clutch is smooth as silk :yesnod:

holy crap, just looked them up on summit- 2 choices, both in 9.68 diameter so what flywheel do i use? i have an 11 inch currently. they are expensive- $719 for one an $900 for the other!

Interesting but probably not the direction I'm going. I'm more concerned with pedal effort, smoothness and traffic manners than ultimate holding power. I'm planning a 20,000 mile year and probably have 400-450 rwhp.

well florida is quite a haul for you to my place, otherwise i'd say you could give mine a try. the pedal and driveablility of my centerforce is great. again, i hope to resolve my issue with them and get on track with my slipping problem

the pedal pressure is very light.you even need to remove the overcenter spring to keep the pedal from staying on the floor.when you have all that surface area, you dont need alot of spring to clamp it.as far as cost,i would bet you will go through 3 regular cluctchs to 1 dual disc clutch.

i think they have a new style out that lets you use any flywheel.i just talked to them on the phone about them, just give them a call.

Dual disc eh? I didn't pick up on that, was thinking it's just opposing sides of one plate. I understand now.

But, it's just too expensive. I'll look into that when the other motor goes in. I'll go with the centerforce for the tourer, and when the B&B fails I'll get the McLeod. That's still a couple seasons away at this point though.
