Also says 70 front valance comming soon. AMD already has them listed for $299.

Ghoste

It says it's in New York but I asked anyway if they are Premier Plastics.  We'll see what comes back.

b5blue

It's the "more than 10 in stock" in their add also..... :o

The material used is currently being used in the automotive industry. It is superior in strength, heat resistant and will not crack or warp!

that doesn't answer the question  :slap:

*edit* they are about 4 hours from me

It doesn't look like a PP auction. :shruggy: If you go through all of his feedback you'll see that only one of his 29 transactions was a sale (if that means anything to anyone). And he has just one Ebay user ID since Oct. 07.

I just wish someone would make the 68 and 69 headlight surrounds. That's the grill part that usually gets beat up the most and seems to be the hardest to repair.

Going for a trip? :shruggy:

if someone needs me to because they want to make sure it's good. I'll be more then happy to take one for the team :D

The headlight surrounds could probably be fiberglass molded.  I imagine that even the headlight doors could too.

It's just that center slatted grille that doesn't lend itself to fiberglass molding.

Ghoste

He replied pretty quick to my query and he assures me that he is not nor is he associated in any way with Premier Plastics.  He does seem quite aware of them and their reputation.  So...

b5blue

Can he show photos of bunches of grills ready to go?  :scratchchin:

Good question.

And a wise demand to make before sending money.

Silversea88 is a member over at the 70 Charger Registry. I'm not sure that he is producing those but rather selling one. He was looking for a repro 70 grille recently and was referred to this place

Same photo.

Not sure what the deal is, maybe he is a distributor now, or decided to sell one he bought  :shruggy:

He's got more than 10 in stock according to the auction so it sounds like he's a distributor to me.

Missed that. You may be right.

The grille itself is not correct but might make a decent grille for a driver. Pricey, but what isn't in this hobby.

Good job detectives! As long as it isn't Premier scamming again... :2thumbs:

How far off is it? I've been away from '70s too long to pick up on that much detail.

Well that and the one he was buying is $750 bucks and the one(same one he is selling) is listed on his auction for $850.  Maybe he just thought he could turn around and sell them on ebay for more to the less internet savy customer who didn't take the time to find the original site.

Bull, the repro grill is solid between the horizontal strip that loops around in there and the edge of the grill that runs to the bumper.

I see. You're talking about the spots where the three arrows are pointing in the pic below, right? They're supposed to have verticle grill bars there too? Why bother producing something like this if you're not going to do it right? I mean I can see setting a fence post a little crooked and not worrying about it but this is different.

bill440rt

This repro grille has been covered in depth before. It is not correct when compared to an original. Surprise, surprise.  :o

Aside from the filled in areas as noted by the arrows, there are no metal mounting brackets pop-riveted to it as the originals had.
This would be "OK" for a driver, race car, etc. Just my opinion.

Another waste of a good idea.  Why bother making it if it's wrong?
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

That's definitely a different ebay user name than the ones associated with past auctions of Premiere Plastics grilles. If I recall, the one I had bought my grille through was "Anushca7" or something similar with a Fresno, CA address. There are a couple of others with Texas locations too. The one that appears to be used currently & on ebay right now, also has a Fresno, CA address, & is called "repoman19681969".

They still have tons of auctions for Cuda grilles, but who knows whether they actually exist, or ever get shipped?  :shruggy:

The 1970 Charger grille auction is Armonk, NY & in Westchester County. That's "theoretically" about one hour from where I am in Newburgh. Mr. Angry (Mike) is a lot closer I believe, but not sure exactly where he is located.

I don't have time over the next few days to inspect the grille in this auction person, but if someone decides to buy it & has problems or issues later, I could probably help out picking it up & shipping it providing it actually exists.
