Anything is fixable. Its wether its feasible that matters. That car looks even worse than my 69 R/T, and I have way less in mine than that. well I did until I started buying parts anyway.
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior
68 383 auto with a/c and power windows. Now 440 4 speed jj1 gold black interior .
My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

vancamp

umm i would say no, would take 3 or 4 times the value of the car to put it back together correctly.

Delete one zero off the price and you'll still spend more on it than it will ever be worth.  Bob

You could build a perfectly nice car underneath that VIN tag, but there would be very little of that car in the final product.

jaak

too high....you could get alot more car for 5k. It would still be a project....but something better to start with.

how fixable is this car even?

NO way Hose A.  Spend a little more money and start with something like this:

http://fresno.craigslist.org/cto/1368672425.html

Or buy something like this that you can drive right away while you save up for a full restoration.

http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/1361736956.html

Or if you really want an R/T spend a little bit more and buy this.

I've done the "buy a field car" thing twice now and it sucks.  all you do is stick tons of money into it and years of not being able to enjoy it when you could have spent more money up front and had a nice Charger to start with.  Your going to sink $200 a month easy into a project like the one you posted, why not take out a car loan and buy one already done, you will still be paying the same $200 a month but then you can enjoy the car the whole time you are paying for it instead of working on it the whole time wondering if you are ever going to get it on the road.   :Twocents:

Daves is about 2 hours from me.  Most of the cars are consigned and 99% look to be projects.  You can see the yard right of 55 but you need to go a way off the Hyw to get there.  I stopped once and thought a few of the projects were affordable.  Not that one.

When i was looking for a roof and a upper cowl I would have paid $5-600 for it if those 2 pieces were good to donate to my 70. The rest looks pretty chewwy and its a 318 car.

This is very good advice. Unless there is some emotional attachment to a pile like that move on to something better.

A 318 car that far gone would never be worth what you put into it, unless it had some unique rare heritage.  Start with a better body big black, and you'll at least be able to recoup most of your money (or more if you're lucky).
