Here is a neat bit of automotive history.
I just got this in the mail yesterday, and believe me...it was well worth the wait!

Lets see who among you is adept at figuring out what it is and it's significance! :2thumbs:

I guess from a certain #88 car or a #3

The oval track cars never had anything that exotic.  They just used a regular old twist on fuel cap.    The one pictured would take too long on a pit stop as it is a two step, two hand operation to open it.

Funny thing, the Deora and the SuperCharger (Topless Charger) were both built by the Alexander Brothers.
And, they both used the exact same gas cap.

So, I'm going to use this cap on my Deora replica! And what better one to use, than an actual 'A Bros' SuperCharger gas cap!

It was installed on the Topless Charger by the A Bros back in 1968. In 1969, the car was converted into the Super Charger by George Busti, and you can see the orange paint on the cap, as it wasn't taped off perfectly.

The car was sold at an estate sale to Raffi Minasian who owned it for a considerable time. It was then sold to Steve Juliano who had the car restored.
In the process of restoring it, he replaced the gas caps with a pair of NOS caps that he managed to track down.

The original caps: One went to Jim Rodebaugh for his Topless Charger replica (he manufactured the second one on his car), and now I have the other.
