Are there any spark plugs still made in the USA?

I know Champions come from Mexico now but what about the other big players?  NGK, Bosch, Autolite, Denso; are any of them made here or are they all overseas?  How many are being made in China now?

The last set of Autolites I bought for the Neon were made in China. They came from Rock Auto. I think I'll buy my plugs from the local auto parts from now on so I can hand them back if they're Chinese.

Nology (http://nology.com/) sells racing plugs made by Brisk;

Made in the Czech Republic, but if you know your war history you know the Czechs are famous for high quality equipment.

Anyway, they're not made in Mexico or China.

Autolite, Prestone and Fram are all part of the same company if that tells you anything.

My opinion is if a company makes their product in the US they usually go out of their way to brag about it. If they say nothing about it and you can't find anything about it after a 20-minute search on their website, chances are it's made by 8-year-olds with hammers and lead paint in some place like Uganda or Mongolia.

Your opinion seems to fall in pretty close with many of my product search experiences of late.  :yesnod:

I think the more correct question is

Are there SOMETHING still being made in USA ?

( now remembering the DANCE MONKIES video )

Growing up in the Metro Detroit area, I was inured with 'Buy American' even before the phrase was coined in advertising. I pretty much got socked in the sack when I bought my only brand-new car ever, a '96 Pontiac Sunfire convertible. (Kid's still driving it, great car) After I brought it home and was detailing it, I found the UAW "Proudly made in Canada" sticker in the door sill. A little research and I discovered that only the engine was (mostly) made in the U.S.

Screw it, I buy what I want from wherever suits me. I try to support small companies that are 100% U.S. interest, but when it comes to big stuff, why should I care if American CEOs get rich, or Japanese ones?
I have no hard feelings towards Mexicans, Pakistanis, or Chinese laborers-I watched the UAW sink the U.S. auto workers with their own torpedo. No sympathy here. I recall GM and the UAW muttering about pensions being unsupportable way back in the '80s when I was right out of high school. No surprises, this current situation.

Remember, Canada and Mexico are still 'America' too.

You might have to verify this but I believe I read somewhere that NGK has (or had) a US assembly plant.

I work for East Penn Mfg. (Deka Batteries).  We make batteries for all types of applications.  We even got some stimulus money for our R & D for batteries for electric cars.  I myself work in the building where stationary batteries are made.  These batteries are used as backups until the generators come on at hospitals and large office buildings.  We even had a large number of our batteries in the WTC.  The batteries can also be found in the little buildings at the bottom of some cell phone towers.  They tell us all the time that our batteries aren't the cheapest, but they are of the best quality.   :2thumbs:

THATS GREAT!!!

is what I say, if the quality beats the price ppl wouldn't care pay the price!!! ( as far is fair and right ) the problem is USA companies has take care more about low price paying less salaries to the crew and Asia has been apparently the only way. They forgott the quality!!!!
