Really couldn't be what the charger should have been namely because it looks nothing like a retro charger

ChargerBill

I'm not singling anyone out on this, but honestly....I have a feeling that before too long I'm going to get really tired of hearing about this car. Anyone else?

I mean, let's just all shut up and wait and see how bad DXC screws this one up before we needlessly carry on about nothing...K?

I think it means that the Charger should have been a more retro car paying homage to the original...not that the Charger should have looked like that. At least that's the way i took it...

"I think it means that the Charger should have been a more retro car paying homage to the original"

Exactly. Thats the way I understood it, and as a classic charger owner, (if they do this challenger) I will truly be disapointed that they didn't do something like this for us charger owners.

Oh wait a minute. Im disapointed regardless.

Thats just me though.  ;D

Yes.   If they build this Challenger, it simply means that they *finally* got something right for once.   It doesn't redeem them for their past sins (rebadging the Enforcer).

That doesn't mean I wouldn't want to own the new Challenger, it just means that I'd still rather see them bring back the Charger.   Of course, if they do bring back the Challenger and it's successful, then maybe that'll inspire them to take the Charger badges off the Magnum Sedan and bring back the Charger.   Bottom line is, no matter what happens in the automotive industry, nothing could make me happier than bringing back the Charger (in the retro way that it looks like the Challenger may return).   I know some people wouldn't like it (those who believe that "too retro" is possible), but for me, a sliver of hope still exists that DCX may be able to summon an ounce or two of raw wisdom and a retro Charger may one day return.   And it's still a better idea than the Challenger, even though the Challenger would be my second choice for a retro car.

I find it funny that the poll is set up so the worst thing you can say about the car is "not bad."
Matt. 14:8 (KJV) "And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, 'give me here John Baptist's head in a Charger.'"

The only thing that will see production from it is the name emblem. Not that I don't have faith in Daimler, I have lots...to go where ever they think the demographic "experts" point them.  With the current state of the automotive industry, maybe some manufacturers will take some chances?

What the heck, I voted.

I thought "what the Charger should have been" would have had higher votes. :shruggy:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

they can reproduce bodylines and window lips all day long but when it comes right down to it (six airbags, rear dvd units, computer run everything) its still not a challenger or a charger.  and i agree they will screw it up just like they did from the get go on the charger (4 doors, come on) is it that difficult to make folding seats these days.  I guess we should feel lucky that we can still get crate motors for our cars when you look at what they have done to the charger name.  oh, and i voted for the "what the charger should have been" as well, i thought the numbers were very low.

have a good holiday everyone!

Andy?.. How the four wheel drives sellin?..   :eyes:
i wonder if this one will get that or be a REAL Hardtop?. and how much it weights the SRT/8s are aprox 4200 LBs loaded up.. it should loose at least 300 Lbs to be nimble... which i didnt really get from my R/T test drive in the sedan. cause it's gonna have to be nimble if i'm gonna give up the space in the back,.. in fact if the rear seats don't fold count me out...  :rotz:
damn i wish they brought out the '99 concept... it woulda' been here two years ago!!! and now i could afford one!..  :yesnod:
neochally looks too simplified to my eye,.. needs a few more details,..

You mean pillarless?  I thought they couldn't do that anymore, due to side impact/rollover regulations?
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

last i counted, benz alone had 5 hardtop models...  ;)

quite frankly, I think we should all just shut up and ignore all of the new DCX cars.  Nothing is worth buying right now, anyway.

If that's the case, the Charger should have ended with the 1967.  Those were the originals.  If they can come up with a car that's deserving of the legacy of any of these more storied names then I'm all for it.  I think they dropped the ball with the Creeder by just trying to cash in on the name.  Maybe this car is their way to get back in the game.
