Looks like it's time for another "AC in a four speed car" debate.

Dans 68

Well, it sure looks like one based upon the fender tag. 26" radiator and A/C specified. Dash looks original with all the right parts. And a 3.54 Dana rear end to boot. Looks like someone sure ordered it their way.

Too bad about the overall condition. Most likely will be parted out for good once it sells (or not). Any humanitarians out there willing to save a very unique Charger?  :scratchchin: Probably about 20k in parts and your time.

So, If I saved this wreck, would I be forgiven for parting out one of the other 1 of

259 383 4-speed 68's about six or seven years ago?

I do have a 68 318 car I could hack up for the grill, tail panel, etc. :hack:

"Forgiven" might be too strong a word but it would be a positive step toward redemption. :2thumbs:

At any rate, this guy is asking too much for the kind of shape it's in and all the stuff that's missing IMO.

Here's a good quote: "Pack rats ate the build sheet."

...parted...out...?  :o

Yes, you would be forgiven  :yesnod: Karma is a powerful force.  :icon_smile_wink:

Do you have the vin and/or fender tag and/or photos on that one you parted out?  :scratchchin:

Actually, it may still exist.

After I was through desecrating it for it's four speed stuff, tic toc tach, and sure

grip....

I sold the rest of it to some guy in Missouri who wanted it for parts for his '68.

It was green (imagine that  ::)) black interior, no console.

It had a cheapy blue paint job peeling off of the green.

Floor was gone from under the dash all the way back to the rear bumper.

Might have had something to do with the three inch thick wet foam rubber that

had been tastefully installed under the disco-era bright blue shag

carpeting... :shruggy:

The car had 236 million ants living in it.

I delivered it to some guy in or around Ironton (I think) Missouri  :shruggy:

We shoved it off my trailer into some tall weeds out in East Overshoe, Nowhere.

This was maybe eight years ago?

The same guy bought a '74 440 from me at about the same time...

Might be a member here? :shruggy:

I thought the sequence # on the dash vin tag should match the number on the lower right of the fender tag on 68s, just like 69s? (for the #s to match anyhow... )

No, for '68's the vin matches the motor and transmission (if they are stamped) while the fender tag SO number matches the radiator support and trunk lip stamping numbers. See http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,38316.0.html for the particulars.
