340 LA breaking rocker adjuster

I am having problems with #6 cylinder broking rocker adjuster screw. It has happened twice. The adjuster breaks just before the locking nut. Mild cam, headers, edelbrock performer and edelbrock Thunder series. Running Mopar adjustable rockers and shafts.
This is not a drag car, street use only. I do jump on it occasionally but nothing crazy.
Cars owned:
1968 Dodge Charger, 48k orig. miles, family owned since new.
Not a Hemi, a mini-hemi 340.
