Thanks, He's in a better place now.

I'd still take one. Thats not a car thats exactly known for safety anyway. Good thing your ok.
That Viper was on the top of my list for years. Also the Mclaren F1. Watched a topgear video about one and realized all the problems and maint. I would never be worth it. Also a charger but I have one now.

bull

I awlays wanted a 68-70 Charger and that feeling has not gone away but I too wanted an 80s vintage Countach for the longest time and I still have never seen one in person. But after looking at several exotic cars up close I can see how much of a PITA they would be. Not to mention all the hassle and expense of working on a mid-engine car that you can't get parts for.

Other than that the list of cars I wanted has always been Mopar or IH Scout although most of the Mopars I've gotten over wanting were of the Mitsu variety. For the longest time I wanted a 90-93 Daytona but now I don't think I'd take one for free. Also I wanted a Dodge Raider and a D50 pickup but now I wouldn't take a second glance at them. Last on my list was a Dodge Stealth and I think I'd still grab one of those if I could get away with it cheap enough. I still think they look pretty good even though they're a little too ricer/Supra looking.

I wanted an 80's trans am because of Knight Rider also. Then my cousin came to visit and he had an 85 or so RS Camaro. After that, um NO!

Blown70

I have most of what I want.

only missing 70 or 71 'cuda or barracuda.

Have the 69 Charger and Bonus 70 Charger..... (although the 70 is heavly modified.)

The other car I wanted when I saw them was the 98-02 firebird, trans Am WS6 convertible.... and I have that too.

I did back in the day love the exotics like everyone sounds like, but they to me have no interest to own, maintain.

Tom

beware the sleeper

yeah im only 26, but ive wanted a third gen charger my entire life, soon as possible i am making that happen.  The only other car I ever really wanted was an el camino, with a dropped in big block of course, I kind of soured on that though just the more i played one or the other.

mikepmcs

Always wanted the ZZ TOP Ford Coupel. The one in a in all the videos.  Now........YUP! I STILL WANT THAT DAMN CAR!

Also a Porsche 911 930 for some reason i've always wanted one of those as well but since I only own american I don't see it happening in the near future, who knows.

and Milner's piss yellow coupe...

and.......

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Troy - How about the two blonde twins from BJ + the bear ?   1 dollar $ per mile wherever you want the load brought to.

Myself, probably the Pantera - although when i test drove one in about 2001, it was red, too common a color, and slower than I pictured. It might have helped if we didn't go on a heavy acceleration run with the parking brake engaged....   :-\ .  Now I have a rig that'll spank the Pantera in acceleration and handling, but there's just something about the shape and the 351 Cleveland in the back of the Pantera. I'll just have to deal with the Cobra-jet in my plain ol Ranchero.

PS- there's always a way, either work harder, or give up other things you have or want !

Hmmm - I thought the 427 Cobra was bad-ass as all hell (and it was/is), too much coin to spend to own one now otherwise I still want one bad. The 63-67 Sting Ray body style always turned my crank. I will never forget the ad for the '70 SS Chevelle - That was wood material. Of course many Mopars were on my wish list as well but the 3 above were my earliest recollections of car lust up to my early, early teens.

i had never seen that "Combo" before... Nice!
I have allways wanted a Ferrari Daytona the car is too valuable to drive anymore but I'd still want one.
I don't see it happening though,..

I did get the '71 Road runner I allways wanted, got that out of my system... anyone want to buy it..  :icon_smile_wink:

LoneStar Mopar

I had always wanted an 82-86 chevy short bed truck as a teenager. Almost bought one when I graduated from high school in 2000. Not sure what the fascination was. Definately not interested in owning one today.

68charger383

Wow, where do I start:

I always wanted an 87 grand national or a 92-96 RX-7. But I'm over them.

Still would buy a viper (2002-2005)....I'll have to drive one into the guard rail myself before I get over that dream.

I think the strong desire for a glass-bodied flopper dragster must be a generational thing.  Same with the altered-wheelbase A/FX cars.

I don't know if it was smaller when I thought I wanted a Lamborghini but I probably didn't have a real good sense of what it was for in my teens anyway.  Although there are still some days yet when I'm not really sure if I have it figured out so...

(for the record though, I would definitely put the Countach in the same category as the Bugatti- extremely overpriced and utterly useless :icon_smile_tongue:)

A 1961 Galaxie
I went on a lot and found a 4 door one that I almost bought but got talked out of buying. I know even if I did buy it it would be in good hands :) and I'd love it just like I do all my other cars. Of course I'd still would like to buy a coupe one day, they're beautiful cars

I like those old cars. I've had a 64 Galaxie 500 and completely redone this 62 Galaxie for my boss and then bought it from him 4 years later for $1200.  :o

Absolutely no bondo in this car. I had rebuilt the 352 engine, new front end and brakes all around and repainted it. He took it after I did all that and had a new upholstery put in it. He found a 51 Mercury he wanted and needed $1200 more to get it so he sold this to me for that. Not many of them had the fender skirts.

As far as any cars I ever wanted as a teen, I think the only one that I wanted and haven't ever had was a 73 Mach 1 and a 68 442 convertible but any other ones that I wanted, I've bought. A good friend of mine had a 70 Charger R/T 440-6 that he wanted to trade me, but I decided not to because at that time I had a pretty heavy foot and knew that one would have killed me. He ended up putting it into a tree.

69_500

Well lets see here this one is easy. Every since I was probably 2-3 years old I have said I would have a 1969 charger 500, and a 1969 Dodge Daytona. Got one, but the odds of getting the other one aren't completely ruled out but aren't likely. There is no way to have both at the same time when you are a delivery truck driver, but then again the one I have is pretty nice, but still not a Daytona.

As far as other exotics, well I wasn't into any of them really. I do appreciate the Shelby A/C Cobra's but you see way too many of the kit cars for me now, and I have to admit that I like the 1969 Boss 429 Mustangs as well, but then again it has to do with there being one in the driveway when I was 2-3. Same time frame that there was 2 C500's and 4 Daytona's and 2 Superbirds in the same yard/driveway.

When I was 5 or so I begged my old man to buy a Subaru Brat. I thought they were the coolest thing ever! (Ah, the folly of youthful ignorance... siiiigh...) Since I am almost a grown-up now and stand just shy of 6' 6" tall, I can better understand his resistance to the idea...  I saw one at the local fair a few years back. There is NO WAY I could squeeze into that thing, much less get back out of it. I could maybe ride in the bed-mounted rear seats if I were to cut my legs off, though.

WANT TO BUY:
Looking for a CD by  'The Sub-Mersians'  entitled "Raw Love Songs From My Garage To Your Bedroom"

Also, any of the various surf-revival compilation albums this band has contributed to.
Thank you,    Kenny
