Went to Harbor Freight yesterday prepared to spend $125 on a bench top media blasting cabinet and come to find out the one I was most interested in was a discontinued item and all they had left was the floor model. I called the manager over to inquire about it and he said it was headed for their sidewalk sale next week. "So how much do you want for it?" I ask. "How about $75?" He says. Sounded like he was in a generous mood so I said "How about $50?" "Hmmm." he says. "Well you won't get any warranty with it for that price." "Would I get a warranty at $75?" I ask. "No" he says. "Ok, then I'll give you $50 for it."

Done deal for $50 but it's missing the gun which got robbed for another blaster cabinet. No biggie. Found a gun kit at Grainger for $13.59 so for $63.59 I got a new media blast cabinet. :2thumbs: And then the guy at the counter sold me a three-year extended warranty on it for $9.99 even though I told him it's a discontinued item. :shruggy: Anyway, $73.58 down from $125 is still a good deal IMO.

Nice buy, Curtis! If I had the floor space I would get one (I now get by, if needed, with using the one at my auto repair shop (since I have them service all 7 of my cars they threw me a bone.... :D).

I don't really have extra room either but this is the smallest affordable cabinet out there and I'm hoping I can slide it under my work bench when I'm not using it. I thought I could get by without one but there's just too many rusty little bits and pieces on the Charger that need blasted. And I'm tired of hauling them around and paying someone to do it for me.

I'm pretty sure this one is going to leak like a sieve too. I might run it outside or try hooking the shop vac to it and see if that helps.

You know the ol' saying, "you get what you pay for".  That holds oh so true with blast cabinets.
I used a couple buddy's HF cheap set ups before I learned my lesson.

If you have any big stuff bring it over.  I won't do it for you but you can use my cabinet.

If it's too much of a POS I'm sure I can break even on it on craigslist. Besides, seeing as how it was $75 off I probably paid what it's actually worth.

I've used $70 cabinets, $800 cabinets and $10,000 cabinets and they all leaked. :shruggy:
