Is so called phpbb back to having there dang problems wit hthere software or updating things again? I'm on another board that has a board that is phpbb ran, and tonight around 11PM the board went down, then around 1AM it came back up and was awful slow at getting around, so slow that my broswer wouldn't even load it  ::). then when I tryed to log in on that board it took a awful long time to get the log in screen to come up and then after I click enter it took so long that I said heck with it. Rest of the main site ir working very well though. I also had afew friends email me and ask me if I was having problems getting onto that board as well as they couldn't get nothing on there end either to work.

When ISN'T PHPBB having problems?? I'm running a couple of forums on that software and I've never seen anything like it. They may as well leave the back door open for spammers..  :slap:

That particular problem SOUNDS like a slow or overloaded database server, though.
There's a lot more to look at to be sure, but I'd check the load on the db server first.
Depending on your hosting company, there should be a server status tool that'll let you know what's going on.

If things went down and were just coming back up, I'd guess things like the SQL server were still getting up to speed.
Did things settle down after a while?

I have 3 phpbb's... and have NO problems.

Most likely the Hosts issues.
