Yup, Lisa is definitely a lot more fun to watch than most truckers. ;) I would imagined the longer you're stuck in a world covered in frozen tundra the better she looks.

But if this thread is going to turn into a favorite cable TV nerd girls poll I'm putting my vote in now for Kari Byron from Mythbusters: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3yuKEILdqk&feature=related

Oh trust me, Kari is superhot, but I will take the astronomer at JPL!

Kari's a mom now, Congrats to her... She is and allways will be a natural "Classic Beauty".
yeah, that JPL gal is pretty nice, I know the one of which you speak,..
I've definitly noticed they try to get some eye candy in pretty much every Show on cable now,,. even if it's just the translator, it's fun to watch the camara guy try to show them without being too obvious...  :smilielol:
  :icon_smile_wink:
The other thing i notice is how they cut corners to save a buck, with canned music and repackaged stuff from other older recycled shows.. They step up the narrators emotion to balance the cheese... but too often I just have to turn the channel.

Season 1 was far and away the best. The conditions and risk of death were worse on that Yellowknife North West Territories ice bridge.

I think one of the creepiest things was when the big rigs fell through the ice, at 40-60 below the ice re-froze instantly and the drivers died....and you could look down through the ice and see the truck at the bottom.  :o

Season 1 made all the drivers look like jack asses. Plus the show was more made for tv then fact. That is why they (the production crew) got told to never come back to Yellowknife. I think this past season was by far the best. Although, they still make the average person think that truck drivers got nothing better to do then blow the air horn  :rotz: :icon_smile_dissapprove:

Your "hot" or everyone else's view of "hot"?  Everytime a picture of a woman is posted on this site you're the only one who says she is ugly.

I wondered why they didn't go back to Yellowknife after Season 1, that explains it.  The show is entertaining to a point, but the overdramatization by the narrator gets old after 30 seconds.  Let's face it, every left turn is not a life-threatening situation.   :smash:

I said "the conditions". It's a TV show, the editing and hamming it up I disregard. I was referring to the conditions which are worse than Alaska, same way the conditions in Manitoba are worse than British Columbia and same way the conditions in North Dakota are worse than Oregon.

I was fortunate enough to have Hugh "The Polar Bear" from season's 1, 2 & 3 - he was on my old radio show. Super nice guy in person and exactly as you see him on TV. It was funny to have in him NYC as it was SOOOO different than his natural element.

Good show.

LoneStar Mopar

I really liked season 1 and 2. Didn't miss a single episode. Like what was already stated season 1 was the best and most dangerous. Yes Lisa is very attractive and extremely cool as well. Even with her charm I had a hard time getting into this season and only watched about a 1/3 of the episodes. I will propably catch up by watching the rest of the season on the internet while working the graveyard shift.

68coronetGLwannabe

We were walking around the Truck show in Vegas and what did I hear but a distinctive laugh. We turned around and there was Alex. He was very friendly and seemed like a truly nice guy. This was the last day of the show and he had probably been their 3 or 4 days and was still smiling and laughing so he must have loved all of the attention. Sorry no Lisa
I pointed to two old drunks sitting across the bar from us and told my friend

That is pretty cool. Alex is by far my favorite trucker on the show.

I agree about Alex being my favorite of the show.

But me and my oldest son think that that season 3 was by far the best season. They acually explained stuff that ment something. Also less mis-descriptions/over exageration of stuff. Season 1 made all the drivers seem like loose cannon wild cowboys which is far from the truth about truck drivers. (not to say that there aren't any out there). But again, that is why the show producers got kicked out of Yellowknife.

I don't understand why the narrator has-to-speak-like-he-is-reading-from-a-teleprompter.     The pauses eventually drive me nuts.

my73charger

I also get slightly annoyed with the dramitization showing a truck go through the ice and sinking to the bottom.  It seems like everytime a truck hits the ice they run it.  Director: "Cut to truck going through ice simulation!"  "Action!"

Ugh, i clicked the link and got met face to face with the polar bear.....

TruckDriver

Almost all the guys on the trucker forum I hang out on hate the show because of all the nonsense drama that they put into the show as well (like everytime when the truck looses traction, it's not always a life or death situation). The narrator too sometimes doesn't have his facts right either. Especially when it comes to the stability of the loads and or the mechanical areas of the truck or trailer. The weight of stuff is always out of proportion too. I still like the show though.

I have caught bits and pieces of a few episodes, being a driver it didn't take long to pick up on the BS reality TV part of it. I more or less watched with my 8 year old son who enjoys anything to do with big trucks. I don't see why the producers feel the need to over dramatize these shows. It would still be cool if they didn't.

Same with me being a driver. The one thing that gets annoying to me is the whole competition on which driver gets the most loads. There IS no competition in reality.

I'm still like your son when it comes to big trucks. I'd sooner be around a classic big rig then any muscle car.

It is an entertaining show to watch.  I like watching the trucking action.  I grew up around 18 wheelers and that was originally what I wanted to do.  I started down that road and then decided to go to college for business and management instead.
