Cooter

I built this motor over 12 years ago when 500 C.I. was unheard of in a Mopar....Now, if you ain't 650 C.I. and up, you ain't gonna keep up...
Built with IRON heads and junk parts...
Need to get back on this one, as I haven't driven it in over a year..
Nevermind the "kid" I had videoing this, as he'd never seen anything liek this before...

Remember the average response time to a 911 call is over 4 minutes.

The average response time of a 357 magnum is 1400 FPS.

DON'T CARE!  I'll rebuild it if you want to part with it!

I'm a big fan of the sleeper :2thumbs: It looks like that one has been sleeping too long.

Now that you showed it to us you are going to have to make it go again.  Or you will be shamed.

Holy crap this is blast from the past...damn, I thought this was another joke thread till saw I was the author..
Yes, this one has been painted flat black and actually made another pass about two months ago.
Hadda buddy giving me sh*t about some things he'd heard about the Dodge.
Asked if I'd prove it....
Ok so I load the Nitrous bottle, set it on kill, filled the 8 gallon cell with 110 Cam2, and headed for Natural Bridge dragway. (8th mile).
It now has one of my cowl hoods on it so dude couldn't see the motor.
Long story short, he's in his 8.20 second 84 Z/28 Camaro. Small block car.
We stage, third yellow comes on and he's GONE..I'm thinking oh sh*t, I mighta bit off more than I can chew here for a split second...
Bout the top of 1st gear I hear that ole wedge begin to talk.
Caught him and bout half track I passed him, but it was sputtering bad and had to peddle it (crutch it).
Worked in my favor though as dude thought I was playing with him. Went 6.98 @ 102. (ROUGHLY translates to around 10.99-11.20s for you 1/4 mile guys)

The problem? In my haste to shut this guy up, I forgot I had a stripped out Nitrous filter fitting going into solenoid....

Yeah, this engine is by all rights junk by todays stroker standards.
EARLY stroker kit with custom pistons and very expensive balancing job.
Iron heads and 10.0:1 compression. Will run on 87, but loves 93.
I have $3300.00 in this engine in 1997 money. Today, it would be about $8k and make double the power with aluminum heads but.....

Looks great Cooter :2thumbs:  The black really sets the tone of the car now.

Yes, I've been digging through the archives.
