Can someone in the know tell me if a 71 charger bumper, front, will fit a 74? thanks Hack

Nacho-RT74

yes does fit, but you won't be able to fit the fillers. 71 and 72s doesn't have the provisions to bolt them.

also the top braces to fenders are diff between 71/72s and 73/74s

how do you get away from bumper fillers on the front?

Nacho-RT74

there is just one way, enlarging the holes on brackets to frame rails and fit the bumper closer to body. You will be saving in that way the gap left by the fillers.

On one step forward to a probably next question, to remove rear fillers, just getting 71/72 rear bumper brackets you will be able to save the gap left by fillers when removing

I wanted the 71 look and remove the hard to find filler.  Since I already had the 73 Brackets why purchase 71-72 When moving the holes on the 73 is free?

i bought the rear 71/72 brackets already. they look good.

the front all i have to do is longate the holes on the brackets and thats it? what about the headlight brackets?

Nacho-RT74

71/72s and 73/74 headlight pedestals are the same... just diff ones are concelead lamps.

of course the headlights will be a little bit OUTER from 73/74 grille, BUT nothing to worry I think. If headlight fillers gets you on some problems because they are hardened, will need to cut them a little bit I think. By now, nobody has reported some problem yet with that

ok i'll try this week, thanks for your help. by the way i'm using the 71 grill (i like them better)

Nacho-RT74

ok, well then you won't have any problem, because the measurements are the same... you will be simply setting up the bumper/grille/headlights at same 71 locations.

I am buying the hide away headlight grille, so wondered if it would, assembly still in bumper, would like to keed the 74 if I can, thanks for any help, Hack  :2thumbs:

Nacho-RT74

headlight grille doesn't need bumper interchange, just change the grille brackets ( and motor ) on existing 74 bumper is enough.

IS RECOMENDED try to get the headlight pedestals coming from a hideways car too to more clearence, but has been tested will work without change them
