Wow, they sure look nice. But, too much money for my taste.  I'm glad mine are in good condition.

for that kinda money i would expect a much better recreation as Re: depth (of the radio face plate) and the far left switch holes.. he's making a DAYTONA clone so he's probably on here...  :shruggy: perhaps this is his first attempt.

Rob, you should buy it and put it on the Green ebay car!   :icon_smile_big:

I love real wood when it's used in the interiors of cars much better than any kind of fake wood. Fake wood, whether it's plastic or silk screened, looks so damn cheesy. I'd rather have plastic looking plastic than fake wood.

When I bought my first Charger SE in the early 80's, the previous owner had made the interior door panels & the package tray out of wood. He joined a few boards at the edges, then ran it all through a planer to get it closer to the stock door panel thickness. I liked the way it looked, but wished that he had stained it differently to match the original, wood grain, dash trim. I toyed with the idea of getting some veneers to overlay the dash, but sold the car before I got into it.

I was always concerned about how well the wood will hold up in the weather changes. The interior gets very hot in the summer sun, so the wood might dry out fast & split. Also, the changes in temperature from cold to hot in winter from the heater in the dash during winter months can damage it.

The wood in the ebay auction looks okay, but I'd like to see a different grain. I also agree it's pricey.

Brock, that's Gary, & yes, he's on here sometimes. I bought some parts from him many years ago & met him in Ohio.

Good point about how well the wood might hold up through big temperature swings.
It's not really my bag, but I can sure appreciate how much time is probably involved on those pieces.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Is "my bag" a 60's term?

Nah, gotta be the 70's. Right about the same time that you were an itch. :nana:

I've had that idea too.

Just knock a zero off that price and we'll talk.

The only real wood for me is the real wood ( look ) that the fantastic brillant engineers originally designed for the car and nothing else.  It is nice looking stuff though.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Good question. I don't get why people always feel the need to put the funky European-style exotic car doors on muscle cars either. IMO it's like putting raised white letter tires on a Ferrari.
