My 68 is Blue with a white vinyl top, 318 2 barrel and AC, floor shift, white interior. Long story, but it belonged to my grandmothers older brother who bought it new, went into a barn back in 82 when he passed on as I had no place to put it or time to work on it until my kids grew up and I retired. I hauled it out a month ago and brought it up here to start working on after a friend who restores cars said I was crazy to not start working on it now that I had the time. The body is in pretty decent shape, little to no rust, the brakes were all rusted shut and took a lot of work just to get the car to roll enough to get on the trailer. I am going to replace those with disc brakes as I want to have a quick but driveable car when I am all done for the wife and I to cruise in.

I need to get with one of those internet picture services as I have a few pictures already.

You don't need photobucket or any of those photo sharing websites......just make sure the pic is no bigger than 200 KB.   Put them in a folder of your choice...(I usually put them on the desktop for easy access) click the "browse" button and you can find the pic where you put it.   Then just click open   and it's already prepared for submission!!!

Have most of the car apart and finding the broken and corroded stuff to replace. Getting the engine compartment ready for paint, have to do some patching around the battery box but most all the metal is in good shape.

Welcome. Looks like a very solid car. From the pics, I would say you are off to a good start.

I like the color scheme on the car.

Continuing the work.

Have all the seats now at the upolsterer's getting new pearl white vinyl, the interior will match the vinyl top. Sanded off all the rust on the seats and springs and repainted black. Stripped off the undercoat on the hood with a 4-1-1 mix of xylol,MEK,and butylcellosolve. I covered the undercoat with paper towels then poured this on the towels, then covered it with plastic sheet. I just turns to paste after a few hours although I did have to scrape a few stubborn spots. Found some rust spots and more signs of critter infestation in the hood, damn mice! Primer will be complete by Friday and looking to paint the engine compartment as soon as the paint arrives.

Love it!

I like white tops only on blue cars. Call me fussy.
