Do men prefer long hair or short hair on women?

Me, and most of the guys I know, seem to prefer long hair on women. We agree it makes them look younger at any age. The women I like MUST HAVE hair shoulder length or longer, or I just am simply not attracted to them. The longer the better. Short hair on women to me, make them look about 10 years older then they really are. And if women are heavy set (I have nothing against big women for the record), and they have really short hair, it makes them look heavier. To me, long hair on heavy women distracts from the weight. If you watch NASCAR racing, you know what Jeff Gordon's wife looks like. She was super hot to me til she cut her hair like it is now, and to me is ugly now. Even my 14yo son agrees, and says she looks 10 to 15 years older now, and is ugly now.

BTW - At one time, I had hair down to the middle of my back, and I know long hair is a pain to wash and keep nice.

So, I'd like to know what everyone else's opinions are on this.

It doesn't matter it's the woman under it that I'm attracted to..I like both ...my current girlfriend has short hair the style and cut suit her and I like the look on her...my last girl friend had long hair....very beautiful long hair.....and the look flattered her.....so ...............any length...any color.....

Well there's the "mom cut" and then for really short hair on women its called the "its convenient" haircut.  

When my spouse and i were in the early stages of dating she had long blonde hair.  then she went out and got the "mom cut" and we weren't even married yet.  She says, do you like it?  I said, "hell no, it looks like crap"  now i could say this because we weren't married yet.  She then went through a few years of mom cuts and now she's back to growing it out to shoulder length.  She hasn't gotten to the "its convenient" haircut yet like her mom, but i know its coming someday.  Like Bull said, some women can make any haircut look good.  

I'm going back to reading my Red Book now.

Depends on how "short" short actually is. Some women with what I'll call shorter hair look really good, but when it drops down below the waist... Katie barr the door.

I voted that it didn't matter, but my reason isn't because of personality, it's because it really depends on the way a hair style compliments each woman's face. Long hair on certain women look fantasic, but on others it looks out of place. The shape of her face dictates what type of hairstyle will work for her. I once dated a woman years ago who had hair that was a lot shorter than mine, almost a crew cut. It looked great on her, but I also remember a couple of women who got their hair cut short & I couldn't wait to see it grow back.

I have my hair longer than I like cause Mark likes it long. Takes a few minutes more but since it has natural wave it's not that bad. Our problem with long hair, we girls, is that once it gets to a certain length we take the easy route and put it in a ponytail. Well that either looks cute or stupid...no in between. I had a client who always had her hair long and was tired of spending time in a salon while she and the hubby were traveling. We cut her hair in to a "pixie", very short and very cute...she's a tiny woman. HE DIDN'T SPEAK TO EITHER OF US FOR 2 MONTHS! They went back on the road and I got flowers sent to me. The card said "You gave me my girlfriend back..." With the long hair they wouldn't go to the beach if they were going out to dinner. (She wore it VERY fancy). Now they go to beach, shower, go out to dinner...he said it was just like the old days when she would throw it back in to a ponytail. He even learned how to cut it since half the salons messed it up and made her look like she had a buzz...ugh!

My friend/coworker that I work right next to every day has hair down to her butt and it is straight and brown. We have a very brother sister like relationship and verbally abuse the crap out of each other every second of the day.  I told her if she ever cut her hair I'd kick her teeth in, she agreed with me.  If she has it in a pony tail for whatever reason, she usually will put it down when she comes back in the office because she knows I can't stand it any other way.  For the record, she is married, with 2 children and we have no interest in one another except to verbally slash each other to pieces. Her younger brother took his own life about 5 years ago and she says i remind her of him.

I got rid of my last girlfriend for numerous reasons years ago. The final straw was when she cut her hair. Ba-bye. True story.

Women are meant to have long hair period. Short hair makes them look older among other things..... just like Paul's original post states.

The hair debate has a long history and dates back 100's of years as to why women cut their hair.  I have my opinion but would like to remain a member for a while.
